I tried to jump in on that, but the server they chose seems to enjoy playing cockblock with the users. The full installer DOES NOT work as advertised, and I'm having sprite and function errors out the ass on that new town I've never seen. I had to uninstall the game, change my locale (which I'm sorely against doing), reinstall the game and run a bunch of patchers on the folder of the game itself, and it still wouldn't work. Why a korean version of an MMO needs an English locale to run correctly is beyond me.

I'm not gonna ask for help or anything. I tried troubleshooting to my best, and it didn't work. I want to jump in, but it's not happening on that server.

But that's for another board, at another thread. Just posting since it seemed appropriate.

I started playing Wakfu yesterday. Seems to have potential, but it's kind of slow solo.

I'm still playing World of Tanks, or should I say barely. I just play each of my tanks' daily doubles while I slowly make my way to the higher tier tanks all over again. If I get a nice game, I might play one more round or two. Doesn't last long till I rage quit again for the day, though. Lots of shit to be annoyed about, more obviously of all, that Chinese gold tank.

They shouldn't have taken the daily gold out, just reduced it. I mean, gold in that game is kinda expensive. That, and the fact that they reset the server, which is understandable, but some people on the beta worked REALLY hard for the tier 10 tanks.

I don't think giving away free money is ever a good idea, I mean, if I wait long enough in a _forever-free_ game, I could afford the same shit that someone who chugged in ten grand or something one year ago. But I do agree that everything is shit expensive (not that I have any gold to even buy anything), and that they make the most unusual of things into gold options.

Seriously? Renaming your crew is a gold option? That's bull.

The upcoming patch for the camo that _you can't even design yourself_ is too expensive credits-wise for a temporary thing, and to get it forever, you need to pay gold for - is also bull. Maybe if they'd let us paint the tanks for others to behold, then it may be worth a shit, and hell, the textures themselves don't even look good. They look so lazy. Again, it's bull.

Also, now that we aren't being fed free money everyday, the reality that high tier tanks are too expensive to play consecutively is bull. Fuck. I can probably say that my DB is giving me a loss once every 3 battles. And that's bullshit, since I don't profit much from the non-loss battles anyway. It's pretty much the reason why I'm so thankful for my hummel. So yeah, every since beta, you don't only have to grind for exp now, you're very liable to be grinding MUCH harder for credits. Hell, I can't even afford the special parts anymore, since it'd set me back into buying the upgraded tank for a whole week or something. And that's just sad.

f2p MMOs are an inherently shitty genre, because:

1. They're typically run by small companies who need to turn a profit at all costs
2. The easiest way to turn a profit is by making everything even remotely interesting/powerful in the game available for cash only
3. There are enough retards with money out there to make that business model viable
4. The business model eventually drives away the good players, leaving only a hoard of shitty BRs who can't afford pay to play games, and a couple of rich kids who keep the server running

I haven't played any for years now because they're all disappointing.

I was kind of looking forward to Guild Wars 2, but I'm not so sure any more. Maybe I'll give PSO2 a go, PSO seemed fun but I got there far too late.
