Download and install a program called 7zip, which lets you compress/decompress files for free. Open the archive with it. Extract the directory anywhere you want, and you're good to go! The cool thing about 7z is that it works with pretty much any file format and even works with files split into multiple parts.

If you're on a *NIX OS, install unrar and type "unrar x whatever_the_file_is.rar". Use wine to run the .exe and you should be able to play.
