I wonder if ZUN avoids adding males because they'd just get shipped with his current characters.

I would love to see the Japanese otaku crumple their Touhou posters and break apart their figs.

One day there will be another official fanbook that explains stuff about Gensokyo. In it, it is revealed that any yokai(includes fairies), god or ghost does not have a real gender despite appearance, nor a desire for relationship or anything else related.
