Hitting a link from the stream's main page to http://skully.hopto.org/playing.php will open the correct page. It's a questionable practice from the dynamic DNS provider (no-ip.com), but it's a free service so...

Just wanted to clarify that I lost ownership of the domain for about a minute. That explains the redirect. That should fix itself.

Yeah shoutcast is a good start if you're just streaming music and/or your voice. For requesting/uploading music, there's a plugin for it but it has hardly any support. Google songrequester and winamp. You should be able to find it.

If you're into serious streaming, get SAM broadcaster. It's a great program.

I never thought I'd see the day. Has everyone forgotten it's a buggy piece of shit all of the sudden? Seriously.

I got bored one weekend a long time ago and tried to write something effectively similar to the software behind /jp/ radio on a spare machine on my local network using Perl. I got about as far setting up mpd and the lighttpd server as well as a functional "now playing" page and I listened to it for a while from my main desktop before wandering off to do something else.

MPD in particular has a built-in icecast server and is controllable at the command line and through modules in interpreted languages. Uploading and request queuing would've been trivial to add; then there'd be an SQLite database for song information and the CGI to make it available to users to browse (probably the most complicated part), and on top of that some small scripts and admin tools.

I would've liked to have finished it, but once it was done I'd have nothing really to use it for. I know SAM has all kinds of flashy back end mixing software and whatnot, but for this use it seems like something that could be jury-rigged together.
