I read Fate/Zero, and was struck by the incongruities between Waver and Rider.

Aren't Masters and Servants supposed to be cut from the same cloth? What's up with this shit? There are no similarities whatsoever between them.

Only really happens when summoning occurs without a specific hero's artifact. Waver had Iskander's cape, Kiritsugu had Excalibur's sheathe and Tohsaka had the skin of the world's first snake.
