The first thing I noticed when I booted up the game was the voice acting. Put simply - it's dull. Mark Hamill's Joker seems to be the only actor who is actually liking their role and everyone else falls into a hole with either flat delivery, awful dialogue, or them just not suiting the voice. It's like Rocksteady were bringing back as many past Batman actors and sticking them in a game purely for nostalgia and not taking into account the actual quality of the voices. It's outright dull and that's the only way to describe it.

Secondly I noticed the visual style - it's all a bit too much when you try to tell a gritty story with ridiculous character designs and completely flamboyant environments - practically every building in the city is tall with a neon sign somewhere and it is a general eyestrain when it contrasts so awfully with the blackened lower-city. The visual style doesn't fit the game's tone, setting or story.

Which brings me to my next point - The story is just freaking bad. It has no substance to it and it seems like another attempt to bring as many classic villains back to be pissed off at the Batman for no discernible reason as a favour to nostalgia; None of these villains, except perhaps the Joker, have a justifiable reason to be angered at the Batman's presence and they don't have any explained backstory except for a short paragraph in their respective bios.

And finally, the controls. They'e just damn awful. It's a boring two-button fighting system with an insensitive, uncontrollable camera that tries to wrestle any possible control away from you. It's completely incomprehensible how hard it is to maintain stability in the game when it goes out of its way to be a general inconvenience. Overall, it's a game that can't decide its tone, completely disallows you to control it properly and its terribly-realised characters, voices and plot just drive it into the ground.
