Took a chance on prize figures for the first time in a while and was QUITE SURPRISED at the quality.

I have preorders for Caster/Extra, Alter's Vivio, Makoto Nanaya, Griffon's Okuu, and figma Robocop (among other things).

Also added like 85 catgirl figs to that profile... about two dozen to go. I'll leave that profile as just the cat collection, and not bother entering the rest.

I just ordered this Motoko figure from amiami. I'm so glad they got more on stock. I missed this figure first and I already thought that was it as both hobby link japan and amiami were sold out. Now they both have it on stock and it's even 47% off on amiami.

I like the bit skinnier Motoko as she is in "Affection" with those clothes on compared to the bit curvier body and her usual no pants attire she usually has on her figures. Also the pose and attitude are great.

As far as the A Channel figures go, I can unequivocally state that I like them better than figures that I have paid several times more for. If you get them on preorder they're super cheap.

Eh... could be the "don't want to shell out for an exclusive variant of a figure I already own" effect, but I don't think the arms work that well on her. Nice as an option I guess, but there's nothing for them to hold, and they don't seem to work too well alongside the gun.

Normal SAL came Friday. Apparently RSAL isn't important enough for scanning the fucking thing while it's in BC.

I haven't played around with the Striker Units and second lower body (apparently people keep snapping pegs on the latter) yet, but figma Lynne is pretty damn nice so far. Honestly better than Yoshika on about every front. Muv-Luv Revoltechs keep getting nicer too, it's almost hard to believe the Takemikazuchis were released in the same line only 2 months ago compared to the Typhoon.

Nothing is wrong with detolfs.
They're nice if you set them properly. But if you need more than 3 - there's no reason to get 4 detolfs, you can get a big display for the same price probably.

The box was so elegant & beautiful, moreso than the figure in fact. I feel that they purposely made the box without windows in order to hide the terribly mediocre paintjob of the figure.

Don't care really. Also they aren't individually glued. They are modled in pieces. For example,the feet are 1x3 blocks long but at the top they have a slot which makes it easier to fit into the body. That 1x3 foot was always one piece, not 3.

It was the pacing. It would go from dragged out slice of life, more boring than funny, and suddenly "Ohh shit we have to do something, here is a shotgun blast of characters who contribute nothing!" In the end Mayu would momentarily stop being selfish and show she had a heart of gold, resolving the situation on her own and all the other characters were just along for the ride.

It was pretty much Seinfeld with seven Kramers.

The screen was perpetually cluttered with characters who just showed up to eat food and argue with each other. This didn't happen in earlier manga stories, and I found myself singing that old Simpsons song in my head "...For no reason, here's Apu!" over and over.

tl;dr

Maybe "pissed off" was a poor choice of words, but I definitely saw it as wasted potential.

This was one huge figure.

It varies depending on how many figures you can fit together and still find aesthetically pleasing. I have 2 to 3 per shelf, depending on size (1/6 to 1/8 mostly), but you could probably fit 5 1/8 ones to a shelf if you wanted.

No idea about specific lights, but I'd say you'd want to go for fluorescent ones. UV light is the main cause of fading as far as I know, but sunlight is the only significant cause of it. You'd want to stay away from incandescent/halogen lamps, as they can be pretty hot and PVC doesn't do real well in high temperatures.

Depends on how much space your figures take up. Some shelves I have 8 figures between 1/8 to 1/6 and others I only fit 1-2 in (1/7 Nanoha and Fate Alters).

The stand slots into a pocket between her back and her dress. And she's wearing her one piece underneath. They're not panties, so it's not embarrassing!

No shrimp were harmed in the making of this photograph. And since when did Ika paint her fingernails? Even her left hand looks to be painted from what I could see of it.

Alt hand and face (really the ones it ships with by default). The face + hime cut tentacles are replaced by removing her squid hat + bangs, but it's a bitch and a half to get off the first time. some paint transfer on her forehead as well.
