On the one hand, you are correct that Mokou doesn't need to be drawn with pants all the time: they are a representation of her nobility, but it's not like it's the only thing she's able to wear. On the other hand, there's nothing wrong with how pants were brought up: someone claimed they were put in to show gender indifference, and the history of the pants was recalled to point out that gender has little to do with it. Not really doubting that Mokou (and to some lesser extent with her sheltered existance, Kaguya) have gone through some traumatic episodes in the past. Just right now in the present, there's nothing to hint that she's unhappy with life.

Guess unless there are other immortals around waiting to come out of hiding, things are going to get a bit lonely with only Kaguya around in case life as we know it eventually dies out. But apart from that, there isn't really any doom looming at the horizon either.

That's only you making up an assumption, it's not stated clearly. The way Mokou speaks about it is actually a commonly used writing method, whereas normally one would keep such things to oneself, in this case, the character deliberately tells of what the aspect in question is about in order for the reader to know.

If anything, BAiJR shows that Mokou and Kaguya do battle each other, and they try to cover it even. Inaba shows as well.

I never really considered inaba canon, mostly due to the fact that the atmosphere is so lighthearted and the fact that it was written by a different author, make it difficult to be taken seriously.
But BAiJR says she's reticent to herself when it comes to people she rescues from the bamboo forest. It doesn't say anything about assassins or people sent to kill her, so she may very well tell them that she can't die and that she hates Kaguya's attempts to kill her.

By the way, Yuyuko is a ghost. Ghosts are not like humans, they think strangely. And she forgot all of her events of her life, so of course she'd be happy either way.
Mokou on the other hand has it just the opposite, every bit of what happened matters. Mokou also had what could be considered a tragic life. What result do you see? Well, she's a forest guide. But she's still ultimately an exile and always has to cope with remembering the things that happened in her life that she's guilty of, as she said in CiaLR. She even said "The terror of immortality is eternal solitude, and endless reality tormented by the consciousness of one's sins..." At the very least, it has deeper meaning than your superficial tea party ending.

By that, I meant obsorbing every bit of official information on the topic. And after that, draw a conclusion from the given information that agrees with and compliments on the official stuff.

For example,
CIALR, Yukari says that shikigami are to her as computers are to the people in the outside world. She also says, that even though Ran can do mathematical calculations very quickly and efficiently, she can't really think on her own. By contrast, I bring the conclusion that Ran is a tool for Yukari just like computers are to us. Computers can't make decisions on their own.

You cannot say I am contridicting myself with this sort of concept. I am merely making things to surface by constructing a hypothesis that compliments with official profiles.
