[SPOILER] No.7974037[SPOILER]  [Reply] [Original]

Do you listen to normalfag music?

>> No.7974047 [DELETED]

>normalfag
Does this word make anyone else cringe? I know this is 4chan, and I see what you're getting at, but...

>> No.7974059

No, vidya soundtracks and touhou arranges onry.

>>7974047
I agree, just calling them normals is enough.

>> No.7974063

nope touhou and vocaloid only

>> No.7974072

Gangsta rap is for us /jp/ers only

poor normalfags trying to fit in.

>> No.7974076

Yeah like metal, "classical music", and classic rock and prog rock. If those are even "normal".

Also video game soundtracks at least 6 hours per day.

>> No.7974080

>>7974059
Calling them normals lacks any hint of irony, so it actually sounds like you're saying that anyone who isn't on /jp/ is normal. Normalfag makes it clear that you're talking about a shut-in's imagination, not an actual conception of reality.

>> No.7974098

>>7974076
Depending on what you listen to, those could range from just barely being normal to more obscure than touhou remixes. Not sure what normal is supposed to be in this context. The hipster trash I listen to isn't normal by anyone's standards.

>> No.7974102

I listen to dark ambient, once in a while. I used to listen to a lot of industrial and noise but I stopped enjoying that a while ago. That's probably normal by the standards here.

Lately it's mostly Diverse System compilations. Over and over.

>> No.7974111

I listen to classic rock still, but most of my other music tastes probably wouldn't be described as "normal"

>> No.7974121

What stands for "normal" these days are terrible dubstep and bubblegum pop and rock.

I seriously doubt anyone on /jp/ listenss to any of it.

>> No.7974137

I listen to Anime/Vidya OST's mostly, occasionally delving into "Normal" Rock or Metal tracks

>> No.7974138

>>7974121
dubstep?
Well, I wouldn't know, I had not turned on the radio or spoken to normals since forever.

>> No.7974177

I actually really like Owl City, The Beatles, Steely Dan, Nightwish, Sublime, and Billy Joel. 95% of my music collection is fucked up shit, but I'm not quite hipster enough to stop liking bands I've listened to for years.

>> No.7974199

>>7974177
Nightwish is the only thing on that list that I take issue with, but tastes are tastes. Anybody who doesn't like Billy Joel should seriously consider suicide.

>> No.7974211

Anime and music, as well as any other media, is made almost entirely by well adjusted members of the society (normals).
They have jobs, girlfriend/boyfriend. Some even have children.

I still wonder what makes certain material 'not normal', since most of reclusive anti socials will never contribute to anything except silly image macros, internet forum posts and, of course, their parent's money.

7974465

Refraining from enjoying certain kinds of entertainment because it would hurt your reputation among your peers makes you as bad as the normalfags you are criticizing.

Proud Muse fan here.

>> No.7974768

>>7974465

Bitch what's your favorite song and album.

Can't help it, I love every damn thing on Absolution.

>> No.7974787

>>7974465

My favorite part of music threads is when people like this come in and insist we all secretly like all boring alt-rock like they do and must be holding back.

>> No.7974798

Yeah, but I have no taste in it, maybe som rap, tatu, even metal and instrumental. Can you suggest something, OP?

>> No.7974799

Midnight Juggernauts.

>> No.7974806

I listen to normal fag music and toohoo music... AT THE SAME TIME

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61FHqywA_XU

>> No.7974815

>>7974806

Wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhh

>> No.7974817

No, mostly because I believe my tastes changed a lot when I found out about doujin Touhou music. Then again, I guess I've always been a fan of purely instrumental music, so maybe it didn't change at all. I just found more sources of it.

Either way, those things my sister listens to aren't bad, but I can't say I like them either.

>> No.7974827

I only listen to jazz and extremely annoying jpop.

>> No.7974842

Not any more...after a year and a half stint of not listening to the radio, I turned it on for an hour and didn't hear a single new song, and it wasn't a classic station. I just don't bother anymore.

>> No.7974857

Yes, i guess. I'm always searching good music. Something pleasing to my ears. The fanbase of the musician/band are completely irrelevant in this case.

>> No.7974868

UK hardstyle, I but suppose that depends who you ask what is considered to be "normalfag".

>> No.7974859

Sure do.
There are some rap and local punk/rock bands I still follow from before I was into /jp/-tier entertainment, and from time to time I stumble upon something new that catches my attention, no matter the genre.
Oh, and some more or less classic popular music bands.

>> No.7974860

>>7974768
Probably 'Plug In Baby', although 'Citizen Erased' and 'Glorious' also come close. No favorite album, every album has too many awesome tracks to pick a favorite.

Only seiyuu work and other anime related music for me.

By normalfag do you mean all western music or just popular music?

>> No.7974905

Sure do. In fact, I'd almost call my tastes diverse. If not rather... whatever the opposite of hipster is.

I've recently taken a liking to Led Zeppelin IV, which is surprisingly good if you listen to it without prejudice.

Pendergrass, Gaye, Isley Brothers, Temptations, EWF, Green, the list goes on forever. I like old nigger music.

I also like single tracks from modern artists, but artists that make more than a handful of work I like include Buble, Melody Gardot, Eldar Djangirov, Jamie Cullum and the like.
