From fullscreen, use a B projectile to mask it, then 214[B]/[C], cancel into high jump, then instant 22B/C.

are there any specific projectiles i should be wary of that have the density and/or speed to break through the 5B and still have remaining strength to mess up the 214[C]? or is it surefire against all matchups

Go back to Reimu Magister! No need to kill everyone with every possible character in the roster.

I hate SWR because I suck at it. Should I just stick to other games and hobbies or actually practice SWR specific things?

I was always a heavy rushdown player and all this zoning bullshit is driving me insane.

No B projectile will fly through yours. Despite being weak, I think Remilia has one of the best B projectiles in the game. Only Marisa's 6C will mess it up; C projectiles tend to fly incredibly slowly. Unless you start it AFTER seeing them shoot and try to clash a B projectile with a C projectile, it should work every time. Obviously you have to time it though, so that the bats and your tackle arrive at the same time.

I used to be a decent Warcrueid player for PS2 AC. But now that Ciel has so many more options and got buffed, it would be dumb not to switch to her (I began MB by playing a fireball spamming Ciel), but again, too complicated, time consuming, and not my style.

I do, however, play a lot of 3rd Strike (hardest learning curve so far), Accent Core, CoD4, TF2, CS:S, CS 1.6, and one MMORPG of choice which varies from time to time.

I also contemplated becoming a better drawfag or learning some Touhou songs on the guitar, but that's the most expensive option since I need a new amp.

So as you can see my plate is quite full. Perhaps /jp/ is not the best place to ask for an unbiased answer as to whether SWR is worth the time devoted to practicing it or not.

I was in pretty much the same position when SWR first came out. I also like to play a whole rushdown style more than anything.
Try using Remilia, she's who I found to be the best to use, or perhaps Youmu.

From a standpoint, NO GAME is worth devoting your time to. You either play it to get better because you find the game fun or worth getting better at, or not. Simple.

If you hate it now because it's a style you're not accustomed too (shit, SF3S isn't even a projectile game anymore), your answer is simple. If you're interested in learning a new style of "fighting" gameplay, stick with it.

>> No.796613

Do people do that by ear, or are there music sheets somewhere?
I've ben wanting to start playing the piano again, but I can't find a score to save my life.

She's 50% shit from long range without any skillcard buffering. The only way to play her is ramming her gohei down your opponent's throats.

Not sure what you're getting at here. As much as I like them, video games are never worth investing large amounts of time on, just like television or posting on the internet.

Practice your drawing or guitar. At least those things are actually productive.

>> No.796619

seriously if anyone loses against Remilia 22C spam they should stop playing this game.

What the hell are you looking at if you don't notice your opponent leaping to the opposite wall, waiting there for ages and then charging at you? There's so much time to react to this move, you just have to cease casting your projectiles and block it. Every character can punish it in a way or another

>> No.796627

Someone stuck using the same laggy bullets/SCs. Yuyuko/Iku come to mind.

Japs and pro weeaboos most likely have the experience to do it by ear.

There probably exist some tabs out there but in Japanese. I haven't found English ones.

I did however, find a site that was all gibberish (even with Asian fonts installed) that had some relatively complex and full-sounding piano sheet .pdf's in them. I'm sorry I don't remember the site, but creative use of google should help you find them.

As for SWR, I guess I'll just be a sucky casualfag at it for now. It's hard, since I'm a very competitive and hardcore person when it comes to my interests. Right now my only reasons for playing is the on-demand competition through netplay (harder to get for games like 3rd Strike and Guilty Gear) and because it's Touhou.

>>796616

Sounds especially appealing since I'm a tremendous Reimufag. I'm afraid too many IaMP j.A's to the face have left me emotionally scarred, though.

I just lost the game. Thanks, OP.

As a fighting game it's quite dumb, but still fun and there's a lot of players. It doesn't really need much practicing, either. Try it and see if you like it.

>> No.796690

>As a fighting game it's quite dumb
That's a pretty negative way of putting it, but yeah, SWR is easy to pick up, and not nearly as complicated as other games like GG where there's all kinds of shit: life gauge, souls, guard gauge, tension gauge, negative penalty, burst gauge, line change, guard cancel line change?, tension attacks, dust attacks, line tobashi attack, jump cancel, roman cancel, FALSE roman cancel, dead angle attacks...

>> No.796726

>>796690

Huh. I guess SWR's engine is pretty shallow compared to Guilty Gear. I just didn't notice because I'm already very attuned to GG's gameplay.

Thanks for all the honest feedback, /jp/. Really, GG was pretty tough too at first, but I stuck with it just because of it's awesome factor. As much as I love Touhou, I guess 6.5 and 10.5 just aren't for me. I'll stick to other areas of the fandom and just pick up the fighters every once in a while.

It's dumb, but I was kind of worried that it'd be a cop out for sucking at SWR when I enjoyed and played the other games and characters so much and I felt like a failure of a Touhoufag.
