This is it right here. I didn't even realize that the bed in the Piano Man's room did anything. I decided to just sleep in it for a bit while I browsed /jp/ for a while, then brought Yume Nikki back up. I got out and found the Piano Man in a panic, and soon enough we fell to the surface of a planet. After going deeper into the map and finding the crashed traincar and this creature, I wondered exactly what it was. Why a wrecked traincar so deep in Madotsuki's subconscious? What's the creature for? It makes me wonder why she hid that so far away. Maybe she wanted to forget it.

I also love to just sit on the rooftop with the Cat. The music there is so different from the rest of the game's, it feels like a change of pace, like it's the one happy corner of her mind.

To me the saddest area of the game is where you find the Witch effect. All those faceless women standing on the shore of the lagoon makes the area seem so solemn, like they're waiting for somebody. And just before that, there's the other traincar with the single stranger in it that you cannot talk to. Like one Anonymous speculated, the stranger is most likely represents her inability to talk to REAL strangers on a REAL train.

Honorable Mention

I agree that the saddest area is the lake. However, I think the creepiest area is the forest with the road area. You'll go on an endless stretch of road with no music, only the constant sound of a speeding care. As you exit, the eyes look at you and a solemn music plays, the noise of the car has stopped. Then you come across a dead body.

Also, my favorite area is the Barracks Settlement because I like the music and how sad the area feels and looks.

I like the spaceship and the Piano Man because I love the idea of him and Madotsuki as a couple.

I also like the docks...bridges...the space where you get the Fat power. Its so desolate. I mostly just like the levels that feel very sad more than weird.

I like when Madotsuki talks to the people and they only make a beeping sound because it shows how out of touch she is with others(again I like sad things?)

and the singing thing on the chair in the room where you get the flute power. I hope the creator of Yume Nikki expands even more on the game because I like it so much ;_;

They attack in groups, and if they happen to attack alone, it's because there's something in that room that relates to an act they shouldn't have done. Something I recently noticed:

In the desert, you'll occasionally come cross cubes with unhappy faces on them. At one point you can look inside a cube.

But, if you explore the desert area right BEFORE the look-in cube, you can find a different path up. There, you'll be able to walk about three of four steps up and hit a fence, and go no farther. There are other cubes on the other side of the fence, where you can't reach.
