This project actually started before Quartet was ever released. Back then, I thought "This is probably the only LittleWitch game that even has a chance to ever be translated." When Quartet came through like it did with no warning, after so many years, a lot of people probably forgot about Period. Oh well.

Actually, the group translating Concerto Note is interesting. They were doing 3 games and received C&Ds for all three (Concerto Note, Hime x Hime, and Pastel). 2 were by one company, and Concerto Note was by the other. The company doing the Hime x Hime and Pastel said that they were looking into releasing their games overseas officially, while Concerto Note just said stop now. Anime Novel decided to respect the C&D of Hime x Hime and Pastel because they didn't want to possibly interfere with an official release. On the other hand, because it seemed clear that has Concerto Note never plans to get an official release, they decided to disregard that C&D.

It was one thread where I was asking if someone was interested in finishing Sora's route, and if so I'd TLC for them. Multiple people applied, so I needed to find someone who knew Japanese well enough to do the job. It was for the benefit of the community, so I don't really know why people would troll me for it.

Nope. Kishin Hishou is primarily about Suzaku and Another Blood, with a small focus on Azrad (pic related) and Shrewsburry and his book loli. Nero appears very little. More than Etherelda though. The "Nero" in that screencap is the "Rhapsodes" from that one end in Zanma Taisen with the Elder Gods.
1st Prequel novel is about Azrad, one Al's master before Kurou, and Hadou Kujou or whatever his name was.
2nd is about some guy Edgar who gets involved due to Nya trolling and features most of the crazy powerlevel stuff.
3rd is about Shrewsburry from Kishin Hishou and Doctor West apparently.

Seriously, how the shit does ixrec release so fast? There are dozens of projects that barely move a few % every month and some have groups with more than 1 translator and a larger team. It's not like he does nothing but translate, he majors in comp sciences. Just how the fuck does he do it? I get where you're coming from bro, but what's your evidence for your assumption of authorial intent? I mean, it looked like it was going to end in the way you described from the beginning, at least to me. I'd buy that he doesn't make his point very well because, well, he's got some issues with writing. But there was no way it was going to end with some clean solution like a murder mystery, that was made pretty clear as early as the second chapter.

Except... The patch comes with a hacked exe that can play ogg voice samples. It follows that it would be possible to attach ogg music to the script as well. Naturally, though, it would take more hacking than simply replacing the tracks in the archive, which is probably why it wasn't done here.

The way the ogg hack works is as follows. The game will try to look for the voice file in uncompressed wav format. If it finds an ogg file in it's place, it will decompress the entire ogg file at once, write out a wav file, and present this wav file to the game. This works fine for the voice samples which are no longer than 10 seconds or so but is not feasible for a 3+ minute music track.
