I'm going to add something to the whole paranoid vs. "too" paranoid argument. Perhaps Keine is a bit over paranoid, but that could be due to her being afraid. Maybe she's afraid of herself. Her lack of strength as a human, her lack of ability to control herself as a youkai, or maybe it's her fear of trust. It could be a lot of things. I do agree she has a deep personality, one that is much deeper than some other characters but I think she is a real character where others may be more perfect.

Thinking of it similar to Arthur Dent cheating death at "Stavromula Beta".
