This shit was so sad, goddamn. I need more innocent grey stuff.

Fascinating.

>> No.7871909

VNs are always sad, because writers can't into good stories.

>> No.7871926

whats with people thinking sad = good?

>> No.7871928

>>7871926
Look at the type of people we are.

VNs, possibly anime, literature etc are the only way we feel ANYTHING anymore. Feeling sad from a sad story is at least feeling something, right?

i just wish theres more hot blooded eroge

What do you mean?

>> No.7871937

It wasn't that sad, she was free in the end. I would of rather had exact confirmation of her death or whether or not her mother as Kara no Shoujo was found or if Saito was put to death for his crimes

Solid VN though, 6.5/10 in my opinion, could have been higher if it was paced better and if the tone didn't go all wacky day to day. Could have done without the daily choices of where to go as well

>> No.7871942

An artistic medium will be suited for somethings and unsuited for others. VN just happens to be a good platform to tell sad stories.

It's like movies and car chases. The big screen is the best place to depict car chases and car chases just doesn't work in other mediums.

>> No.7871945

I can't be a drama if there's a good end.

I feel that VNs are the best to tell over the top stories as you have visuals along with music the set tone and setting. Sadness is one of the things that makes more of an impact with more simulation, though it could be just me that I only really feel something in a 2D medium, books, and good movies.

>> No.7871960

*stimulation
rather than simulation, sorry.

Also I would like to add the only thing that can make me cry is VNs and anime.

For me VNs are all about character interactions and development, plot can go fucked.
Too bad in most real deal games that development amounts to *dere getting hit by an orange truck/self-sacrificed to dragons/midbroken by ninjas/stranded in space/dying from AIDS 5 minutes from ending with sad music on top. Music beeing the only emotion inducting part

I always hate it when VN/Animu-stories let all innocent cute female protagonists die like flies in the end. Monsters!

Even if you described Muv-Luv Alternative pretty well there it is still sad as they build up interactions with the entire cast, especially Meiya. Fuck you age, I will never get over it.

I think they mentioned the possibility of the prosecution pursuing a death penalty case on him. I liked every bit of it besides the coroner.

Well, I'm pretty sure if your art evokes emotion in people, that's a good thing.

>> No.7872056

I personally found it very mediocre and forgettable.
Hard to care about the story and characters, the mood and art are good I guess.

Well.. what would you suggest? Not necessarily suggest but what VN did you enjoy in particular?

>> No.7872082

Don't read this shit if you haven't read KnS. This is what I thought of it all. Generally, I thought it was so-so. Quite enjoyable, but I really expected better.
I kind of thought the same. Not really mediocre, but it wasn't as great as I imagined. I saw a few CG's of the gore CG's, and I expected them to be done a bit better, like Orihime's death was done.

I really enjoyed the mystery of it all, and the M. Toko ending was pretty awesome. But really, one of the fucking killers for me was the fact that you nearly HAVE to use a walkthrough. There's extremely stupid shit that can ruin a playthrough.

For example, if you don't notice a scrap of paper or something on Orihime, you then are forced to a dead end, and two bad ends. It's fucking shit.

Also, I didn't like how there was one serial killer, big break, then another one. I actually can't even remember how it all came together now because it was all quite forgettable, and nothing really huge.

Oh, and I liked when Orihime was tortured in front of Reiji. Sadly, I didn't get it the first time I saw Orihime die, but even AFTER knowing that Orihime was totally screwed after watching it through the eyes of the killer, that was a really sickening scene. They managed to make me feel pretty sick every time the killer music played, which is pretty commendable.

The TRUE ending was very fucking bad as well, holy shit. It didn't really conclude anything, and Reiji was just content with Toko being gone, but still alive. It was incredibly fucking stupid, and it was just passed off as a 'Oh, she's gone to a better place now', but really she had had her arms and legs chopped off and given to some random fuck on a train. Incredibly fucking dumb.

Good Afternoon dubs gurl.
How are you today, you are well I trust?
Lovely weather out, no?

>> No.7872114

>>7872082

Damn, now that you mention it- it was quite a bit of a cliffhanger. As for walkthroughs, yeah; this game was really unforgiving with it's bad ends.

Looking at it from that angle; it was definitely enjoyable and is still probably one of my favorites. Just not exactly perfect.

I would like to see an English release of Cartagra or Caucasus though. These guys have me hooked.

>> No.7872119

>>7872114
Yeah, Cartagra looks good. The main thing that attracted me to KnS and Cartagra was the art.

Sorry but no, character in Muv Luv were flat moeblobs that didn't evolve since Extra and completely ruined the game for me. Well, I dropped it at 5th chapter of Alt so they could have gotten some development before getting eaten, but that's still unacceptable.

People not getting the true end makes me sad.
