I believe it's been around 5 years since my dad has been trying to force me to get my driver's license but because I don't live with him I don't really give a shit. Not only am I a terrible driver, but I've had zero interest or motive in getting a license as public transport has been able to get me anywhere I've needed to go. I mean sure, he's likely right when he says it's a necessity in life, but I got my learner's without ever reading the driver's manual and I honestly just don't want /need it.

Got my license within a week of my 16th birthday. I rarely have anywhere to drive, though, and my cars are too antisocial (2 seats, loud, uncomfortable, no radio, etc.) for anyone to want me to drive them places. I basically only drive when I want to go for a drive.

I'm working on my license right now.
All of the theory stuff is done, except the last exam.

Doing the actual driving bits at the moment.

I have the internet for all my needs

It costs 1200 euromonies and take 6 months to get driver's license here. In comparison it took me 1 month and 31 dollars in California.

First, it takes money to get a license.
Then, you have to attend a course, and drive a ridiculous number of hours with an instructor.
And even if I had a license, there's nothing I could use it for, and it would only make it harder to pretend to my parents that I can't find a job.

Yes I do, I even have a car, but I never leave the house to put either to use.

I have a license. I didn't pay for it, nor did I pay for my car. I don't pay for my fuel or my insurance either. I was also reimbursed for the driving course I took to get out of a ticket. Also, in state licenses only need to be renewed every 50 years and so I'll probably never need to renew mine.

My parents think having a car/driving is part of being a normal person so they try their hardest to get me to use my car regularly.

I'm thinking about getting it so I can get a job as a courier or something, since that would allow me to move the fuck out of this shithole known as my mother's apartment, but without having to take a job that requires tons of social interaction. Worth it?

Also, I've dreamt about being a private chauffeur ever since I played this one nukige with this really awesome private chauffeur at a mansion who always hung out in the garage, reading really complicated newspapers or something, because I never understood a word of what he said.
