I've tried many chatbots but I must say that this cleverbot is the worst I ever tried. It's absolutetly the dumbest chatbot I ever tried to chat with. ELOISA from the 486 era running on DOS was better than this shit.

Apparently the programmers thought it was a good idea to make it learn the answers from the users so it could give coherent humanline answers.
That's an horrible idea, it just makes cleverbot spout random sentences with zero coherence whatsoever.

I don't like these chatbots.
I even feel awkward when I'm talking to them.

I recently introduced a friend to Touhou.
It wasn't really that difficult. I simply asked what his favourite kind of music was. He wasn't very sure so I asked if he would like to listen to jazz.

He said that he doesn't really listen to it, but could like it, so I proceeded by playing some songs by Touhou Active NEETs for him.

He seemed to really like it, especially Rigid Paradise from their latest album.

After playing songs that he liked of various genres I simply showed the character the song belonged to, and then also showed the characters stage in the game(s).

I ended up showing all extra stages to him and then downloaded the games for him.

I asked a few times if I was boring him, and he replied that I didn't, followed by that he thought it was interesting.

Actually I feel too awkward talking to a chat bot in a one-on-one conversation.

Someone should make a chat with a group of bots that all talk to each other and fill in the conversation when you can't think of anything to say, just to lighten up some of the tension.

OP, I'd start with the music and see if s/he likes it. The Touhou BGMs have been remixed into so many different genres that it's possible they will like it. If they do, I'd move onto the games before getting into anything like doujins and the like.
