DN is pretty close to the "F2P" version of Tera. The problem here is that literally every appreciable aspect in Dragon Nest is worse off.

The graphics are low-end, and so poorly optimized that Tera, at max settings, actually runs better than Dragon Nest does.

The core gameplay is similar, except Dragon Nest is entirely instanced content that is far too simple and easy. The game also revolves around a handful of simplistic instance hubs with 4 central very small central town areas. The party-seeking system provided is archaic and near-useless.

I was going to type more, but I realized I don't give a shit. Also the PVP in DN is very fun, probably more-so than Tera's current PVP systems allow.

There may be better options out there but I didn't feel like looking. It's worked pretty good though. I used it to pay for both seasons of index on Nicovideo and got speeds of about 2mb/s without any down time. Not great, but better than free proxies I've tried at least.

I'll just be clear so I'm not confusing anyone: this decision is retarded, yet the logic behind it is fairly sound. There is obviously little communication between the localization people and the creators, or else the creators have no experience with the western market, or else they would have already planned ahead for all of this and they would have been "censored" even in the original release.

They rightly assume that sacrificing otaku for mainstream appeal is the correct decision but incorrectly think that anything less than a total overhaul of the game will accomplish this.
