I'm playing Dies Irae, Oretsuba, and now Muramasa. Since I'm in the middle section of all but Muramasa, which I just started yesterday, it's going to be a while before I finish anything.

I did however play Dra+Koi over the weekend. Game was really great 8.5~9/10 given the length. If you've got a couple hours free I totally recommend it

It's looking good, but to be fair, it'll probably be hit or miss rather than amazing, like Dies Irae was.

The author's point of triumph is in super stylized and artistic text, reading Dies Irae was a lot like reading old literature. As a consequence, he can make a moment awesome, but his imagination for plots and it's components, as well as explaining the rationale behind things, is notably thin, since it usually comes down to magic or blasphemy.

The language is rough not so much in structure as much as it is in vocabulary. If you give the demo a try, playing it will probably be stiff at first, but you should be able to hang on with intuition no less.

The trial was great, but, didn't really demonstrate anything but the author's proficiency at writing imo. It's hard to know whether it'll be good or not, but in the mean time, I recommend playing Dies Irae. If you like the writing and style there, then, under the assumption it's up to the same standards and quality, you should be excited for KKK too.

First playthrough you get shoehorned into Rain route no matter what you do. When you finish one of Rain's endings, those choices at the beginning start coming up to make you branch into the other routes, so of course you also have a choice to stay on Rain's path, but that's only for later playthroughs. Playing Kara no Shoujo. I only get a couple hours a night to read it but I'm enjoying it so far. Before that I spent way too much time getting 100% completion on Koihime Musou so it's nice to play something a bit more meaningful.

At first I was a bit put off by the character designs in KnS. I thought they seemed sorta bland and similar but after getting through a couple ends I like them a lot better. The girls are definitely growing on me.

Kamidori is NOT something for beginners to jump into. It's fantasy, and it has a fuckton of different items and monsters and dense stat screens and so on, and the game uses the kanji for all of them. If you're only counting the reading part, it's still not a beginner's VN like a slice of life, but with all the dumb kanji like 蜥蜴 and 蝙蝠 showing up all over and you being expected to look these monsters up to find where they spawn and then hunt them down for ingredients does not an easy VN make.

I've been tempted before, but Hongfire hasn't failed me yet, and it's not like I care about the delay in getting it considering it'll sit in my backlog for months or years.

It might be because I'm the other side of the world from Japan but the speeds I get from share are always pretty abysmal.
Doesn't really compare with torrents once they pick up seeds
