Quick question about 涼風のメルト.
Looking at a walkthrough, the only heroine I really wish to pursue's route or whatever only opens up after clearing the routes for the other 4 girls.
Would I be missing much if I were to skip through those or download a save to get to that point, or I am I going to miss a lot?

Like I've played slice of life games and nukige that seemed to randomly lock a given heroine's route almost just because. In more scenario driven games though, I'd have to agree with you though.
Though, I'm going in to 涼風のメルト because I like Whirlpool's art and character designs, nothing else, so I know nothing about it at this point.

Putting my long back log aside, just finished s;g a few days ago, and... I think expected too much from it. It was good, but I wouldn't call it a kami-ge. It was probably because, I could already see the ending(true ending) half way through it( from chapter 5 or 6 I think). Also, the chapter 5-8 was pretty boring for me, since almost everything happened just as I expected (not to mention, the op vid spoiled chap 5's content orz).

A lot of work was put onto it, but there were still some plot holes left. There were also some things which was left unexplained. It was still good though, I especially liked Mayushi (oh god! that fucking voice!) and of course kristina (相対性理論って、とてもロマンチックで――)was just awesome! Now about Okabe, well, he's an idiot (and was too emotional for my taste) but overall he was pretty good).

Lately, I've been playing Oppai Explorer, and for a chara/moe-ge, its pretty good. I just finished Kotoha and Mishio's route. I'll probably read the fuka's route next.

I'm looking forward to 君を仰ぎ乙女は姫に , which will be released in a few days. I'm reading it just because the protag is a 努力家, a quality which I really like. Also, the protag has three imoutos. lol

Finally starting Terra. This better be some fucking EPIC Muv Luv Alternative level shit that made the other routes worth it.

I'm really starting to develop a pet peeve for H scenes that continue after where you'd think the logical conclusion would be and get better after that point.

I'm looking most forward to Kajiri Kamui Kagura and the Applique Fan Disk though only because of Rito, who is my wife this year. I'm not going to raise any expectations for it, but I look forward to Mahou Tsukai's possible release, and am covertly keeping an eye on Tenshi no Hane,

That being said, Dies Irae is fucking awesome. Don't care too much for the story, but the way the scenes and lines are coordinated for smooth, descriptive discourse of action heavy scenes, while rearing it's constant, literally artistic, use of language is outright blowing my mind.

But the story is way underwhelming.

Myth: http://vndb.org/v1056 Really underplayed, yet probably the best Doujin VN I've played ever. Extremely detailed plot, extremely unique (in all the best ways) scenario. Really one of a kind, my second favorite game to date.

If you're partial to commercial-ge, I'm guessing you've played it, but Nijuuei was just outright awesome. Been talked about here periodically.

All my other recommendations are super popular [Spoiler]Subarashiki Hibi, Saihate no Ima, MuvLuv Alt, Himawari in order[/spoiler] so the tip might be in vain. I've only met one other person who's played Myth though.

After reading this I decided to finally go through the Circle Tempo games.

Just finished Aguni, it was short but pretty good.
I liked the way it was written, simple but sophisticated, the writer has a lot of control on his text and it shows.
The last part actually managed to make me pretty emotional and the second bad end was a huge but awesome WHAT.

Now starting Myth

Played a bit further. You take the main heroine's virginity, but after that she gets costumers normally so not for the pure crowd. Atmosphere is pretty good if you like ukiyo/edo stuff, but it doesn't look anything amazing you should play for the plot so far. Gameplay is about choosing where your budget will go between equipment/advertisement/personel/etc and what girl will recieve costumers, along with some unique events like break into your customer's houses to collect debts, and so on.

I just started sekien no inganock and i'm really digging it so far

What they did was, they had the main character end up with one of the heroines, only to have it retract back to a certain point after their respective endings, which in turn were accompanied with the line "What if the MC had made a different choice?"

I could see it work for Muramasa in the same way by reseting it back to chapter 3 where Kageaki makes the choice. The ideal way to make it work would be allocating 2 episodes for each common route chapter, 10 for Kanae and Ichijou, and 15-20 for the final chapter and Chacha. But I think that's asking too fucking much from eroge adaptations, no matter how good they may be.

Slowpoke playing DearDrops. Got Yayoi and Rimu routes done, doing Kanade now. While both Yayoi and Rimu were crazy short, I didn't necessarily feel very peeved about it since they were both pretty weak characters throughout the entire novel.

I plan for Majikoi after Deardrops.

Just finished Symphonic Rain.

Shit was good. Slow at the beginning, and I didn't know exactly what to expect, but I was pleasently surprised. The TWEEESTS were pretty well done, and while half were easy to see if you expected tweeests would be coming, the other half came unexpected yet well worked through, specially the big one. During Al Fine I suddenly remembered a few scenes in Lise and Fal route and went "Ooooh".
The autoplay feature for the gameplay part was nice for when it was late and I didn't feel like doing it.

I agree. It's especially important for the end of Lise's route to play it yourself. After a bad end from having not chosen a heroine to follow (I wanted to be loyal to Arietta), I chose to follow Fal, whose song I believe is the hardest of all heroines. I practised the song many times so that I could follow her route which made me a lot more invested in her character and also more disappointed in her at later points in the story.

Finished this for the first time. Some parts of the final battle were a bit silly but that final clash, those final moments, those final lines...were absolute story-telling perfection. Muramasa at its best seriously has no equal in this medium. Great epilogue too, gave Kageaki's character the closure that has been missing in fukushuu-hen. One thing that I'm not exactly sure about: Did Hikaru know/realize that Kageaki was her real father?
I'm also slightly pissed about the fact that Raichou didn't get a single proper battle. That gloriously glittering faggot managed to cut off one of Ginseigou's wings for fuck's sake, he deserves more than off-screen deaths. Chachamaru calling Kageaki Midou while that song starts playing was still awesome though

But yeah Caim's becoming a hetare for the big part of the chapter was a factor, not the only one though.
The whole situation with Lucius was also strange.

I can see how it works, how the entire situation fits the thematic and why the writer did it but it just felt there were some jumps in development here and there with things that should have been better explored.

The narration is set in a way so you can understand every single sword swing in the fights, however some people seemed to dislike those explanations since some of them occur in the middle of the fights ( But I really enjoyed them).
