You're thinking of Tsumihoroboshi with aliens. It would be best to go as far as Minagoroshi and then release the first part as Matsuribayashi in Rei in a different format, so that the subtle answers are given, just not write the fucking definite end, because then he had to write Rei to bullshit his way out of it into vagueness anyway.
