Absolutely not, I fucking hated Puru..she was easily one of the worst characters from ZZ. Both of them felt completely useless and unnecessary. I just like Marida's statue and her backstory after being "Puru" is pretty tragic so the white knight in me likes that.

Wanna camera, something like Nikon D7000 would be crazy good, but cheaper Canon 550D is nice too with a good lens. For figures and for everything else.

I tried out a friend's zx1 and I'd have to say it was pretty good just in general, probably the best compact out now. I personally have an S95, but I would've waited and got a zx1 just for its faster lens, if it was my only camera.

If you're serious about photography, yeah, go with a dslr, but unless you are really after shallow dof and high iso performance, a high end compact will probably do fine. I went the dslr route, but I still ended up with an s95 just for the portability factor; pocket vs backpack. Honestly 90% of the time it does everything I need in that respect.

I see your point but price isn't the only factor. The dslr will never be as portable, and the compact will never be as versatile.

So I was googling the whole Busou Shinki thing. It looked like it was too complicated for me, so I settled with a figma Miku Append like a good casual figfag.

How long would cheap chinese knockoffs cost? I can get a couple figurines( mostly those that I can't find anywhere anymore), for about 50-60% base price.

As far as visual quality go, they match up to real ones 100%, but I'm worried about shelf life.

They should theoretically last as long. Have you actually seen them, they probably don't match up to the real ones. If you are buying online the person may have must posted a pic of either a real one or a fake one but one the knockoff company painted with detail to use to sell others. If you have seen them in real life, still, comparing them with a genuine figure will point out the flaws. If it is pose-able the joints are probably not very good. The only time I've found decent knockoffs was knockoff GKs but those you have to paint yourself, or get someone else to paint them.

i've got a knockoff saber alter in a dress. maybe 3-4 years by now. she's still upright and looks about the same as she did when i got her with the addition of a bunch of dust. you can see the casting lines but if you don't think about them then who cares, it was cheap.

Hey guys, just wanted to post and say I've joined the fig buying master race. I kind of wish I'd taken the plunge earlier so I could've gotten Saber Lily, but a Rin is fine too. It's now sitting between my two monitors where it can constantly warm my heart.

It's not too hard if you budget well. My monthly "hobby budget" is ~200-300, though I try not to go over $200. I don't do impulse buys unless I have absolutely nothing I want for that month. Even then, I save that money for the perfect storm months with tons of buys, like this upcoming August for example.

Detolf is the only display furniture I need(for now). They're cheap and it's not like you will be buying them constantly month after month.

Buying cameras? Why would you need more than one camera? And I upgrade my PC once every 2~3 years. Other than buying figures, everything else you listed are long lasting.

If you work at least somewhere and not wasting your money for a girlfriend or another hobbies but figures - there will be no problem to get ~3 figs at month without any problems with food and survival.

The problem is - there is not so much good figures, I basically stopped ordering anything since January because there's nothing interesting for me.
Good camera is fucking expensive and that's another story. I'll be saving money for it, about $2000 for lens and camera is pretty expensive.

Got my okuu GK and my aya figma. Both are very nice. Starting to clean up the GK parts so maybe once im done that a bit later i'll post a pic of how it looks, assembled but not glued or painted. These aren't so bad, especially for the price. I mean, you can't really see the flaws except under the camera flash or when you are holding them 5 cm from your eye. Mind you, these are about less than an inch tall. About the height of 28mm miniatures. Also, sorry about the subpar pictures, I was using an 18-270mm telephoto lens, I don't have a lens for closeups like these. Aya and reimu are probably the best of the 6 for these fakes.

Also, as in the previous pics, remilia and patchy both look a bit.... muddy? I don't know why it looks like that but I can't see it with my own eyes.

Hello /fig/ I am moving away for work for awhile and need to store my figs. There is space in my grandmothers garage that I can use, but being in Canada the winters get down to -30c here often enough. Would my figs be alright in a non heated garage? Or should I try to find somewhere inside? They will be in their original packaging, and then those boxes will be put in cardboard storage boxes. There are about 30 full sized figs and a few nendoroids and figmas.

Pretty much all these figures are pre-painted and pre-assembled. Gunpla on the other hand is pre-coloured plastic which you can add highlights and shadowing to.

If you're talking about painting a GK than yes, it is harder than building a gundam model. Building a gundam model may possibly take more time than prepping, painting and assembling a GK but it really requires less skill.

As you did say to make a figure then im assuming you might have meant sculpting a GK.... that is hard. Conversions aren't too had as you already have something to work with but plain out sculpting a figure is hard. Whether it is harder to sculpt a figure or to sculpt the pieces for gundam, idk what would be harder. I suppose gunpla models are computer designed so I suppose it would be easier to design one, than again lots more parts they have to design.

If I didn't cover what you asked.... then please rephrase your question.... it isn't worded well. Especially since you aren't defining what "these" are (GKs, hand sculpted figures?" or what kind of "making" you mean (building/assembling?) because most figures as previously mentioned are pre-painted and pre-assembled.

Even better are these brushes for camera film, they have a little... bulb (dunno what to call it) on the handle that you squeeze which expels air out of the tip, it also has a brush on the end. I would say it would be the best since it is meant for camera film, and that is very sensitive. I used to do some darkroom work back in the day.
