I'm expecting to be hired in a "wave" of applicants to a sporting goods warehouse in the summer before my first year of university. The pay is adequate, something like 14 and change Canadian Dollars if I'm working in a line, or 16 and change if I work on the actual shipping floor. Luckily, I've been lifting lately; I think, if I can deadlift 225lbs, I can stack boxes that weigh a fraction of that for a whole day.

When / if I get payed, the first thing I'll probably do is buy a figure. I'm leaning towards one of Chen.

2. Work there for 6-12 months
3. Start applying for other slightly better jobs you are interested in (or would prefer over Mcjob)
4. In the case that you do need to support yourself completely, realize that Mcjob doesn't usually cut it and go to a trade school/vocational college (while still working Mcjob).

Plus if you look there are a decent amount of jobs people don't think about much that take hardly any skills. Like working the counter at a net cafe or being a ticket checker at a train station or babysitting handicapped kids.

I work for [DATA EXPUNGED] health insurance company. I don't actually deal with anything related to health insurance. I help people who are on medicare get onto a government program to pay their medicare premiums.

The united states government literally pays [REDACTED] to sign people up for a program to have the government give them on average 100 dollars a month.

The worst part is that my job consists of creating small tragedies all across the country for eight hours a day five days a week. Most states have an income/asset limit. Single people have to make less that $1246 dollars a month in gross income and have less than 6680 in assets. So every day I end up denying old and disabled people help for being even just a dollar over... I had to disqualify someone for being fifty cents over the stupid limits.

Even when I do qualify someone it really does nothing to change the systemic problems of capitalism that keep people stuck in poverty. Every day i talk to people with thousands of dollars of medical bills they cant pay and [DATA EXPUNGED] health insurance company decides to just stop covering peoples drugs all the damn time.

This is my existential crisis, my job.

I really hate mechanics. They always want to foist come crap on me. And because i can't into cars i'm really helples at this kind of situations. Every time i get a bill from my car mechanic i consider which percentage of this fucking high bill would actually be a fair price for the cost of material and cost of the "performance" they did. I bet It's around 20%.

I grew up in a orphanage myself, and 5 years ago at the age of 18 they threw me out and decided i had to get a job to pay for my new house.

And since all i am good for is standing around looking scary i ended up getting a job as a doorguard at a richkid club.

I lazily drive my Volvo FH-16 (with automatic gearbox and a shit-ton of equipment) while having my mobile-phone connected to the head-unit, blasting the /jp/ music stream through the speakers. When it works.

Got an interview tomorrow @ 'Arbys'. I'm 19 an have been unemployed for the past month after moving. I look like I'm about 16 years old which makes it hard for people to take me seriously when I apply. I do like the shocked reaction on there face when they realize that I've had 3 previous jobs and have been working for a long time.

Seriously /jp/ working fucking sucks and should be avoided for as long as possible.

Best Buy reporting in. I research stock count variances. I do the vast majority of my work prior to the store opening, and spend the remainder of my shift locked in the sales development room. I rarely have any interaction with anybody, besides sending out passive aggressive emails once in a while.

At the very least, the shifts are great (5AM-1PM) and I make enough to pay for my shitty interests.

Silly me, not even smart enough to work with a few forms of a careers page. I guess there's openings for NSE IIs... which, barring the "having to communicate with customers" doesn't seem too bad.

You have any opinions on the position? Or do you not know/care?

What are the requirements for librarian in Canada? You need a masters in the US for some reason, I might move to the Great Frozen North if it's easier there.

>> No.7612280

>>7612267
MLIS as well. Depends on the positions, I guess. If you want to be a departmental head / admin staff / head of a university library's subject etc then you'd need the MLIS, for a lot of other positions you can just get a library technician diploma from a college.

Private libraries might be different since they aren't as strict about rules. I know we went to visit a bunch of different libraries and the national bank and some law officies, for example, have library techs working there as well. And yeah, any bachelors will do I think (for the masters)
