EQ2 is good. You'd be better off getting the one-time $10 silver subscription, but it's one of the best free mmo's I've tried.
DDO is decent too.
None of the /jp/ flavor of the month mmorpgs I played were any good.
For online games outside of mmorpgs, World of Tanks is pretty fun.
I also used to play S4 for a long time, wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy though.
Currently waiting for Brawl Busters, thinking about trying Dragon Nest.
