I really hope easymodo never goes down. I make use of it regularly, to check the longevity of threads, or read up discussions I was participating in but had to sleep/leave for whatever reason.

At least my proposal was a win-win for both parties. You will be assured of the archive being up while I get to put ads (preferably on the top and bottom section) to support the cost of hosting and perhaps profit a bit from it. I've been transparent in my motives from the start so definitely no malicious intent. So I'll always be on stand-by ready and waiting for the right moment and opportunity to grab /a/ and /jp/ archive. I may not have the technical expertise but I certainly have more than enough means to keep it running but I also expect R.O.I. in one way or another.

It was useful at least for ghost-posting DDLs and other things that needed preserved. He should have kept it at least for that, but it seems Eksopl doesn't want to allow posting on his board as he has no intention of reading the ghost posts and he won't allow posting there without him reading it. If anyone cares enough, they could always mirror easymodo or make a easiermodo archive which is the archive of easymodo, but with posting enabled.

I don't get it. What prevents you from making your own archive? The archiver source code is open source and there are a few clones of it as well. You might not have the archive as Eksopl hasn't published it, but you could always obtain it through various ways. Your archive probably wouldn't be used if it had ads compared to easymodo, but nobody stops you from making one.
