As for the quality of the translation, it isn't really the best. There are lines that I needed to use context clues just to figure out what they are talking about and the sound of some translated lines... aren't really good.


Even though I was going "wtf am i reading" 10% of the time, disregarding the translation and just understanding what they are saying based on the voices 20% of the time; it made me understand the story.

So, in a way, I'm thankful for this project.
I just hope someone picks up KimiNago or CandyHeart next and wish for a better quality translation.

For me, Yui route is pretty okay. Even if the ending is kind of a let-down, I think she is the cutest girl out of the bunch.
Though nothing can beat the premature ending of Mayuri -- its like they said "We will give her a cliff hanger ending so that you will buy our next stuff."

Haven't finished reading Sakurako and haven't started Suzuno's route yet.
Number of h-scenes per girl: Yui-2, Amane-2, Sakurako-3, Kururi-2, Mayuri-1, Suzuno-1. Lacks more Mayuri scenes.
Although I have to say, Mayuri's h-scene in CandyHeart is so... interesting.

I really do understand where you're coming from but have you read the message on his website? I'm pretty sure he knows it was a rough translation. I mean, it's kind of amazing he persevered through all the flaming. That at least shows commitment. Abandoned projects are infinitely more frustrating than a sketchy translation. I would have to say that "don't lose it, okay?" is a better translation. Using "isn't it?" for だからね？ doesn't really capture the correct nuance of it.

But the rest of the trial's sentence is retarded, it looks like he just latched on to the word '単位' which can mean 'credits in school' and just sort of created his own sentence from there, despite 単位 not being used in that way here.

The guy who made the trial patch certainly doesn't know Japanese either.

Well, to be fair, one is someone who is good intentioned but bad at what they do. The other thinks that by releasing unedited drek, they're striking a blow against the translation community, has chased away real translators as well as editors for not believing in the holy crusade more than than the work itself, and is a spammer.

Granted, one of the ones you have yellow highlighted I'd say is more accurate than the one on the left. The one that says "The hell". It gets the original feeling across better. In particular, the mistranslation of 'もう'

But yeah, the English is better on the right one but sometimes the translation mistakes are even more bizarre.

Finished through Mayuri's and Sakurako's routes. The translation quality isn't the greatest, but it's not the shit people make it seem to be. Only a few things bothered me:
out of place profanity
spouting memes and random shit during sex scenes

Of course, many lines seemed redundant, but I don't blame you, literal translations don't always fit another language. Anyways, good job and thank you, I guess.

What does it means then?

Having just finished Amane's route tonight, I'd like to say thanks for the translation. While it was very awkward, I could usually figure out what was going on and only has trouble at a few places. A more polished translation would, of course, be preferable, but beggars can't be choosers. I'll echo the same sentiment a few others have, though: if you do another project like this, leaving out the memes and excessive (not to mention out of place) profanity would be great, as they do detract from the mood even more than awkward English does.

Overall, while not perfect, I do appreciate the effort as it does seem at parts that it's cleaned up a bit more than just straight machine translations. I wouldn't say to ignore the complaints and trolling, since there are some very valid points, but take them more as constructive criticism than a flat out "shit sux". If it's any consolation, it's far more readable than Kira Kira, and I've heard that the Edelweiss translation made Kira Kira look perfectly natural.
