Just write something to recognize the voice references and port them over to MangaGamer's script, it looks like it shouldn't be that hard with a program. Then MG's modified script files should be placed in a folder named 'scenario' and repacked using insani's Kirikiri tools and saved as 'patch.xp3', which is then just placed in the game folder and it should work.
(Yes, MangaGamer's version uses Kirikiri.)

They're using Kirikiri which is an open source engine. You can build your own, take one from the author's site or just get the version they put on the trial.
To use the one on the trial, all you have to do is open up the trial's executable in a hex editor, copy from start of the file to the start of the XP3 to obtain a usable exe. After that you need to extract the XP3 from the full version using the same method. You can either concatenate the 2 files (executable and XP3 archive) and you would get a DRM-free executable.

The only way their DRM would work is if they took special care of it like japanese companies do when using Kirikiri.

Not that any of this matters anyways, I don't know of any MangaGamer game that didn't get cracked despite having DRM.

The engine used by MG's Kara no Shoujo port does not appear to have changed from trial to full (KiriKiri 2.32.2.426),
which means there's no reason to crack the game, the trial exe can be reused.

First verify that you have the right files:

The exe's contain the engine and all the scripts. The external XP3 archive contains all the data files (CGs, sounds, BGMs and others). The trial should have slightly different data files with most of the latter part of the game's data missing, but what really matters is just using the right engine with the right scripts, which should work as long as all the data files are present.

Voices are interpreted as sound effects (SFX volume slider in menu affects them) but are played in a different sound buffer so they won't get interrupted by any normal sound effects playing. Voice support is very basic with no bells and whistles such replaying from the backlog, additional related option menus, etc.

As an example: if you only want to use the font patch, just rename it from patch3.xp3 to patch.xp3.

Me too SO HARD re: Cartagra. I almost held back on playing KnS, since I know several Cartagra characters reappear in it and I wanted to avoid spoils, but I couldn't hold back in the end.

I'm definitely buying the MG version too (the very next time I'm in a country they sell to; I'm IP-blocked here ;_; thus very happy to have the download for now), in hopes of showing Innocent Grey that there's a viable market for their games overseas so we get Cartagra and KnS 2 once it's released.

Hopefully, KnS 2 still being in development means that they'll be able to negotiate with the company that holds the rights to the voices this time around and release it complete.

As one of Inogure fanboys I don't actually like the idea of MG translating this VN, and releasing it voiceless to make it even worse. It's ridiculous seeing how they justify their half assed translation for being just fine, not to mention the original VN involved high tier seiyuus such as Aji Sanma.
