I kind of agree, but at the same time the amount of posters that didn't post or mention an "entry-level" Touhou was still pretty small, which still makes /a/'s tastes overall pretty bland. Not a single stage one boss for example, not a single character post MoF except for Nue and Okuu. With that many posts you'd think there's be at least a few like that.

The namechange was a good thing. We had countless spam threads not to mention the raids, because we were thought as a random board. Unfortunately, /a/ is now full of people who don't even know what otaku means, so it's no longer as effective as it was back then.

I'm pretty sure the diffusion of /jp/ material into /a/ and /v/ has made it so that less people come here, not more. An /a/non has a question about good VNs to get starte, sometimes he'll jd withust ask /a/ about it rather than head the den of elitist autistic assholes that is /jp/ to get saged to death.

This is quite true actually. Not a regular /jp/ lurker myself, usually spend my time at /a/ and /v/ for just about those reasons you mentioned. Visual novel threads never get deleted on those boards anyway, and I'm sure /jp/ regulars are happy with that just as much as everyone else is since you won't have to deal with as many people coming in here asking about entry level stuff.
