This game is driving me up a wall and I have to take a break, can we talk about it?

I want to follow a walkthrough but it said failing to defend a territory can invalidate it. Seriously? Once you're up against two forces and you're trying to keep your cost down to scout for characters I keep running into parts where I have nothing left to defend with and lose territories that I, if I'm following the walkthrough, have no time to retake.

I want to just wing the game but I keep thinking I'm missing everything and it bothers me.

WInging it should be fine. Just make sure you dont bite off bigger steps than you can chew. Make sure you always have enough troops to successfully defend every round. Dont overextend

Just read the captain capture guides and the walkthroughs-that-are-not-really-walkthroughs that deal with the houses in Alicesoft wiki.

Doing full solid walkthroughs take the fun out of the game.

I was JUST like you, before I actually started my first playthrough, I wanted to get walkthroughs and open up the wikia and follow a route and etc. but then I started the game and even the GAME ITSELF tells you to stop worrying and try to play normally, and I said well fuck it I will. And I did.

Yeah, true, I did miss alot of captains and events and etc etc., but now I know what I can do different, where some events would be, what not to do, etc.

tl;dr just wing it. you're not going to get all the events/captains anyways, some route decisions cancel out others. Unless a certain something gets activated later in the game, you'll win.
