Depends on what you like. There are different materials like cotton, nylon, etc. Then there are different panty cuts like Bikinis (covers most of the butt), Breifs (covers all of the butt), Thongs (not a lot of coverage), and g-strings (no coverage at all).

Alright then. Buying panties is easy and can be relatively painless if you go in with a plan. Panties range from about five dollars to ten dollars at most, anything higher or lower probably isn't worth it. Some people prefer to buy online, but I would reccomend going in person to see what you'll be wearing.

When it comes to comfort, your balls and the tightness of the panty are your obvious concern here. Panty size is based on waist measurements, find out your waist-size and google how to convert it to women's, and from there you can roughly get the woman's size you need. If you're skinny, you'd be surprised how similar you might be to a woman. If you're a fatass, say your girlfriend is a fatass too when purchasing them.

Panties come in different materials and 'cuts'. Cotton, satin, silk, nylon, lace, etc. Most of this types will be in a lingerie store and probably more expensive. Bikini/Briefs (The type in OP's pic) are the most common type of cut and the most likely to be found in a pack. Thongs can be found in packs as well. I'd start with simple cotton panties at a place like your mall's clothing chain. No one cares what you're buying there, and the packs you can get there should help you figure out if you like this whole thing or not.

If you do, try some thongs you can find in packs as well and then some different materials for the normal panties and thongs. The most comfortable ones are all up to your opinion on them. From here you can go into the more high-end lingerie places and try other materials or lacey panties. It's up to you. Enjoy this newfound hobby you won't be able to stop investing in.
