Bard is terrible until bard level 30 when you get heal.
At least you have an instant stacking aoe dot and movement speed buff so you can solo basically infinite number of mobs, but if you have more than say 12 you'll die in a lagspike.

Clerics are the best fucking class hands down. You can solo all the field quests easily with your unlimited healing and they're pretty much mandatory for dungeons.

They can't die, that's why. Their killing speed is pretty solo (though AoE) especially until they get the second AoE skill.
Comparatively a hunter can kill any mob in 3 skills (dot + 2 others) and a wizard or bard can kill 4-6+ mobs in ~15-20s

Lv26 Magician here, I kill groups of any number of normals (depending on how many are within range) within 4 seconds. Ice AoE -> Ice AoE -> Lightning burst once they're close. -Everything- dies to that. Unless you still run around with a lv10 weapon at that point.

32 Cleric here, I gather a group of five to ten mobs by hitting them, then three casts of AoE is usually enough to kill them all. So a bit slower than a mage, but much harder for me to die.

I love the fact that the HoT stacks five times, and reapplying it once keeps the whole stack going.

For guild fame, you have to go to the capital (Awen, was it?) and buy quests. They all give 10 fame if the quest is for your level range, less if you're overleveled.

There are two types of fame, one type for yourself which you get by doing regular quests and the other type is gotten by doing guild quests which are bought in Aven. Guild quests are highly monotonous kill a fuckbunch of monsters quests and give 10 guild fame if they are about the proper level for you, five if they are the next one right below your level and 0 if they are below even that. Each tier of guild quest requires you to kill an increasing amount of monsters which makes guild fame grinding very monotonous.

It would probably be best to get groups of 5 similarly leveled people and have them all do guild quests together to get about 50 fame for each fuckbunch of monsters killed instead of ten. So it would take 100 fuckbunches of monsters for 1 group of five to get 5000 guild fame and 500 fuckbunches for a single person to get the same amount.

Basically don't do guild fame quests alone.

31 bard here, I have a nerfed version of cleric hot (230hp a second for my entire group) and an instant damage stacking gtaoe.
Too bad getting to level 30 bard is the worst. No heal besides cure until 30, no aoe besides hurricane until 25. Especially since you aren't going to spend CP on the instant nuke.

Also are the knowledge skills with +% bugged? I got the hot one and my hot didn't get any stronger, only 2s more on the duration.

No, they are dependent on your class level. You unlock outfits that are different colored versions with maybe some inscribed art but the form is the same. You get a choice between a pink or green skirt.
You can't change your hat from the cleric's lame hat to the wizard hat. Likewise, the hunter is stuck with the one-piece and knee-highs and can't show off their midriff like the thief. They will probably add look items through the cash shop later.
And the hats are either on or off, you can't have the jester hat on a bard for example.

Dyes are random and most often have some crap like hot pink in there.

The item mall is open, and characters are given free points to use. If you're upgrading equipment, you should get a Safety Stone to protect your item from destruction after a failed upgrade. There's also a selection of the four-color dyes available. Oh, and there's the pack-expansion item, too.

Also, characters level 15 or below can pick up set, one-color dyes for 1g at the dye merchant in town. The selection is somewhat limited, but the darker colors are nice. I somehow never bothered to check this NPC until I was right at level 15.

Well, I hit 32 and the only classes available are repeatable until 33.

I've been stuck at 20% of 32 for 6 hours now, dungeons dont give anything and repeatables only give 3%.

32-33 is one of the "harder" levels. No more chain quests to level you almost instantly, etc.
My suggestion is to go get the guild quest. You can stack 1-2 map REP quests on with it and just grind it out. It's not really "good" but it's not horrible, either. It's the best option, anyway.

Levelling after that is "kind of" easier until 37. But getting to 40 from their is a pain in the ass, especially once you hit 38.
But it's a lot more fun/bearable if you have a constant 2-3 other people you party around with and do REP's with.
I came over on a completely non-related to JP clique and 3/4 of my group are 40 character already.


PS: Whoever's responsible for that thread on Aeria's forums is a fag. Though, that probably also goes without saying.

By the way, the dungeon quests available at the town's bulletin board provide some decent fame and experience. Make sure you grab one before entering a dungeon.

The xp is pretty mediocre. Only about 75k for completing the Ulta dungeon quest, in addition to only 20 fame in about 35 minutes. Still might as well grab one before entering a dungeon, but 2 gold 750 silver is a bit steep, miserglue.

It's no wonder that nobody wants to play tank. It's pretty damn annoying trying to keep aggro off everybody but yourself.

It's really not that bad. For AoE tanking switch to knight with a high level provoke, cyclone, declaration of anger, and the knight's special cyclone DoT. That generates enough AoE malice and single-target malice to keep aggro on you.

For boss tanking I'd recommend switching back to warrior, but it's just a personal preference.

I've only had trouble when someone else decides to pull. Peeling mobs is a huge pain and for some reason people feel like it's their job as magicians to pull.

If it's like 4 monsters or more, just be a Knight and declaration of anger, provoke the one he targeted, then use judgment storm and cyclone on the rest of them. Yes, they're being silly, but it's still manageable.

If it's a couple of hard-hitters, be Warrior and declaration of anger provoke the one they hit, angry punch the other, and then cyclone.

Warriors have better block, more defense, more hp, and do just about as much damage as Knights, if not more when Bloody Attack actually procs the extra hits. Knights have good evasion, attack speed, and pretty decent attack. You can use either one for single target really, just like you can in other MMOs, but I still prefer Warrior.

Unless they pulled with an AoE, you should have enough time to provoke, declaration of anger, judgment storm, and combat cyclone before they die, or even get hit all that much. Those skills (assuming you leveled them) are really very good malice keeping and even malice taking skills.

Northwest in Aven there's a bunch of material gathering NPCs. You buy gathering orders and then hand them to the relevant NPC (they're right next to eachother) to get materials. As for the recipes, there's a bunch of vendors up there that sell the level 20 and 30 ones. You can get level 40 ones from guild towns if they have the relevant NPCs, which Hotglue's does. For level 30~40 stuff you also need Terrifying Thoughts, which drop randomly from level 30+ enemies or from treasure map chests.

I think you got it upside down.
Most clerics EQs have G-healing isntead of P-healing.

In the Guild Town there are quest which requires materials and a certain "EE devotion badge"
The materials are easy, just buy the recipe and take them to the correct Farmer/miner/Summoner.
But what about those EE devotion badges?
There's nothing written about it in the job description.
I asked around and they told me about the mysterious L.20 quest. Help would be great

Unless I'm just too low level to know any better, this game doesn't seem to be very team-play oriented. I'm a level 13 cleric and I've only needed to party once for a single dungeon so far. The rest has just been easy and boring solo grinding. The dungeon was fun though. The dungeon was fun though... All 15 minutes of it. It's kind of depressing rolling a support class in hopes of finding bros to play with that actually need me but instead end up doing almost nothing but soloing.

Can anyone explain to me what the point is of leveling up other classes for the same character, besides being able to switch roles on the fly? Do you get to keep the Regular Skills or Class Skills or something from the class you switched from? Also, can you switch right back?

Doing guild quests gets you guild fame. Guild fame gives guild levels. Guild levels increase the guild member cap which starts out at 50 members.
You also need to be guild level 3 to purchase a guild city.

That heroic trait is only recommended if you plan to main a healer, since Wisdom and healed amount is practically useless for other jobs.

AGI and HP is helpful no matter what class you switch to. LUK and Crit/MCrit is helpful for half of the classes, depending on which one you choose. Strength and Damage is very useful for Tanks, since Strength also increases block rate. Even if you aren't a tank, the increase in damage would help.

While it is definitely good for a cleric, the problem is any heals which have a constant effect (ex a hot) aren't affected by those stats either.
That rating is based on the fact that you are probably going to play at least 3-4 classes to full effect.

luck+mcrit is not better for straight up healing, especially for a cleric. For a bard it is arguable because without crit heals you probably will not be able to keep up solo healing on a 5 man (crit heal to full health either catches up or gives me a chance to apply a juicy ~2k def and 130eva buff for a the tank). I really wish there was an Agi+cast speed trait. In the beta however, luck is the king stat, because it sure seems like most of the other stats for casting are broken or at the very least are not marked in the ui.

The question is, do those only count base or equipment stats? if they are base it is very easy to see why luck and agi are winning by a landslide.

You are choosing that trait for the attack speed bonus, not really Agi. At 40 that 5% spd is worth over 100agi.
If you could mix and match stats, >50% would be str/luk +atk spd.

Ranged classes don't need to dodge, they kill solo mobs in 2 shots, and they can only tank party mobs with a healer.
You'll also notice that the hunter's prime stat is actually luck. So either Luck or Str. Str does improve p atk. Both give more benefit than agi point for point.
