The visual novel is pretty damned good.

Very different from the anime, but better if you ask me.
Much more serious and plot oriented. Pretty damned fun too.

I'd say it carries weight, especially considering that the girl you choose in the first game is the one you continue with in the next 2 games. By the way, the second one is already translated and the third one is on the way.

Most of the characters maintain their personality between show and game but Vanilla is completely different (for the better)
