7422168 No.7422168 [Reply] [Original]

The Emperor Hideyoshi was one of few Japanese Emperors who unified Japan and then treated his conquered territories as allies, rather than devising them. This left Japan in a peaceful state and lefad them to seek control of Korea and China. In the end the Japanese failed, but if they just kept at it, instead of constantly having civil war, I think they would have been more successful.

Discuss what you think Japan's mistakes are/were and tell what you would've done if you ruled Japan.
More importly say what you would do if you were the soul ruler of Japan TODAY!!!!!!

>Japan's mistakes are/were

Hijacking the Ainu lands and acting like they own the place
The imperial system that made many struggles of power into laughable dickwaving contests
Temples everywhere which means monks rule the country
Unhealthy poetry obsession
Wanking off to Chinese history
Ridiculous self-righteous attitude of absolutely everyone, including fucking exiles and traitors
Horrible smithing techniques brought on by equally horrible iron
No armor worthy of note whatsoever
No horses worthy of note whatsoever
Terrible navy despite sea surrounding their miserable island from all sides

>what you would've done if you ruled Japan.
Abandon that wreck of a country and go join a Mongol horde. At least they get this whole conquest deal done right and proper.

Technically, he was a Shogunate but he controlled Japan anyway. He was never an emperor.
Fun fact: Tokugawa who succeeded Hideyoshi as the next Shogunate never sent a single man to Hideyoshi's campaign. Instead, he just waited for Hideyoshi's force to grow weaker and slowly subjugated weaker clans in Japan to his realm.

This board once refereed to me as "disability-san". My fellow Otaku, I cannot express how ashamed and sorry I am fotr looking and spelling like a retard. This anon humbly ask you to pardon my disabilities. For I am man with flaws, flaws that I battle with every day through will power and perseverance. I have created 10 - 15 Threads without anyone saying anything, which leads me to believe that I have been doing better for myself, as well as for all of you. please look at my posts with merciful and compassionate eyes. I am sorry one more Itry and do my best.

In no way am I frustrated with /jp/. I have disabilities and they are part of me. It is useless if I become frustrated with them; it will only take me longer to regain composer and to complete a task. It is an evil to have my mind and body struck with these disabilities, but it is a cross I must bear. In a sense I shouldn't apologise for my disabilities, but I do care about discussing topics here with /jp/ and I am sorry my mistakes get in the way.

>>
Unfortunately Japan and South Korea are indeed vassals. I am not Japanese, but........has anyone ever thought about what Japan might be like if the Emperor still ruled Japan? Don't get me wrong I am a patriot to U.S.A's democracy, but there is corruption. In WW2 the Emperor was simply a tool for tojo's propaganda, which tended to happen a lot during the feudal era. If the Emperor himself would take charge of the goverment, instead off laying back and letting his generals run the show (Like every other Emperor) it just might be a peaceful and righteous rule with freedom to the people. In all honesty democracy has worked a lot better for Japan and whether its Imperialism or the feudal system Japan has little no success with them.......

OP here still
Asmerica, and all the other countries that forced Japan to open their borders, had instilled the spirit of imperialism in Japan; in fact they them selfs were acting in the name of imperialism by forcing Japan to open thier borders . Japan kept to the spirit of imperialism through WW2, but they did so in an evil way. One must ask if starting war for land/riches and conquering land in the name of your King/Emperor or religion is just at all.....I don't believe it is.
