It will never happen. As popular as they are they are just flavor of the month, once it ends it shortly starts losing popularity, but Touhou is always as popular.

For example looking at Pixiv's Daily Ranking while Madoka was airing you would always find Madoka fanart in the top 10, but also Touhou.
Nowadays you can find Touhou but hardly any Madoka.

K-ON was the same, all those hits are always the same.

Not searching just looking at the tag lists. And yes, I messed up.

Not to mention that searching yields different results than just looking at tag-counts. If you search for Sakuya's given name only you get images tagged both with that name only as well as her full name, while tag counts display the exact number of images tagged with each tag.
