Just bought Audiosurf on Steam and was wondering if any fellow /jp/ers played it. Whenever I load up some /jp/-related tunes I expect no one else playing the game to have listened to, I see a surprising amount of scores listed. It's surprisingly addictive and a lot of fun, and listening to some TRiANCE CODE while cruising down the colorful lanes is extremely relaxing.

>> No.7417573

Haven't played it in a while, and I think when I did play it it was generally before I was much into /jp/ stuff.

Though if anyone has a good song suggestion I'd be quite up for it. I think I did play some Tanasinn stuff towards the end. In the Depths of an Ether Binge, I think.

>> No.7417589

Yeah I play, oddly enough I've never seen people play the songs I've gotten from threads on here.

It's $10 now, but I don't regret my purchase at all.

I love Audiosurf
Unfortunately it does some annoying thing where if I play for too long, my audio shits out and I have to restart my computer to fix it. I guess I should find out what does that but eh..

Still a great game. Most I ever got out of 10$s.

>> No.7417663

Only /jp/ things I play that I see scores on is the Touhou GSTs, and even then its not very populated (I'm top of Kagome Kagome on pro, that feels wrong).

>> No.7418838

>>7417663
Yeah, I've got a few like that, and ones where I'm the champion simply because no one else has played the song, but there are others that surprise me, even if it's only for or five other players, because I had it in mind that this sort of game would attract the Guitar Hero crowd where this sort of music is obscure.

>> No.7418860

Get Beat Hazard too, OP. It's like a version of Asteroids only you're guaranteed a seizure whilst playing, it's pretty awesome.

>> No.7418865

During Potato Sack it had been reduced, but by far not as much as during sales before that (2,50€).

I have consumed many touhou OSTs. I have consumed many anime OSTs. I will consume all scores that challenge my hunger.

Give Usatei a ride by IOSYS. That song, and Gyakutan from the Index S1 OST have over 400 traffic. Only JP-esque songs that have traffic that high. Also, if you really want to get any re playability out of the game - stop playing Mono right away.

Many new people go to mono because of how simple it is, and never move up - so they never have decent scores and become uninterested immediately, while there is still much to explore.

Are all Touhou GST Elite champions from here?
I have pretty much no chance against most of the scores which sucks, but I'm still champion in many stage theme, as no one plays them

How is it tagged?

I played it with "IOSYS - Usatei" but besides me there are only mono scores

02 - IOSYS - âEâTâeâC

Is how it is tagged, not sure how to open the other bit and edit that though. It is from a torrent that included like five of their albums.

I don't actually have the throne for it presently, another DVE player took it from me without Iron Mode on.

Songs with a higher traffic have a higher point yield with iron mod inactive, so I've been unable to take it back.

This is purely my laziness.

I prefer osu! to audiosurf, simply because it's difficulty is more wide spread. When feeling lazy, you can really effortlessly pass easier difficulties, but when you want a challenge, harder difficulties will really test your skills.

The only drawback is that you can't really listen to an mp3 and just play it, but you have to download the mapset for a certain song, but there is lots of /jp/ material there already, mostly touhou related as well, so there shouldn't be any problems.

I never have a chance there because mine aren't repeated..

Honestly the repetition hurts me more than helps in Audiosurf. The unpassable breaks in them middle of each song kills my chain. For listening though I prefer the longer MP3s. While many songs are similar the Scarlet Weather Rhapsody is still my favorite album/OST/GST

>> No.7419766

Used to play a ton with Pointman during its golden age a couple of years back, but I rarely do any more. I'm well out of practice and can't keep up with any half-decent DVE/Eraser players at all.

Indeed. It's not perfectly tied in with the music like Guitar Hero or anything like that, but the general feel of it comes through pretty nicely.
