As for the reason they don't use their real names; Earl Grey might be in risk of being kicked from doujin events if it turns out all their people are professionals working under the same names as they are usually. At least, that's the only reason I can think of. Other circles have used professional voice actors (such as Hachimitsukumasan) and revealed their real names, however the difference might be that that was a one-time thing and that Earl Grey do nothing but these kind of releases.

Fuck. I like the sound of trance music, but I abhor the format. Get me away from any song that's set up like this:
3 minutes of incomprehensible earrape
37 seconds of recognizable tune of the song it's covering. Usually this part is amazing.
4 minutes of incomprehensible earrape outro

Even then, sometimes they'll put useless, meaningless crap over that glorious 37 seconds of "hey I kinda like this bit." Sometimes it'll be some overedited voice reminding you that you're supposed to be dancing to this schlock, sometimes it's just an annoying "woohoo" that covers up the best part of Hartmann's Youkai Girl.

You know the only reason they have the intro/outro bit is to make mixing it into a set easier right? In a live show you would just have more of the decent middle bits rather than the 1min 30sec intro/outro on separate tracks. Although since Touhou tracks aren't ever likely to be mixed it seems a bit pointless having intros to them, but what can you do.

Should just clear something up. As a rule, generally everything in the thread which is Touhou will be from Reitaisai 8 (any genre) and everything non-touhou will be from M3-27 (mostly hardcore, by the looks of it).

I understand why that format exists, but since, as you said, it's highly unlikely for Touhou music to be used in that way, it makes no sense to me that it's done to every song on a Touhou album. In all likelihood, it will almost always be listened to by someone in their home or vehicle that just wants to hear music. It's like Alucard's backward dash in Symphony of the Night--programmers spent a lot of time making an escape mechanism that realistically will almost always be used as a temporary speed boost when just walking down a corridor.
If they can make 37 seconds be amazing, which they can, why not make the whole track that quality?

There's actually been a lot from Reitaisai 8. I think I had around 4GB of stuff, and that was me being selective and just downloading what I liked. However, we had the thread closer to the original intended date for Reitaisai 8 since stuff was appearing in shops and subsequently on share, so people uploaded most of it then. There hasn't been much new stuff since the official event however.

I think you are confusing astost for Doujincore itself. The page with the FUNKOTMEN link on it has a lossless link on astost, a chinese site which the rip was taken from with permission as long as it isn't re-uploaded. You need an account for astost which is a pain in the arse to get and maintain, not for doujincore.

You might want to try a recent version of DeaDBeeF instead. It has a foobar2000-esque convert feature and it works well.

Alternatively if you're into CLI try out cue2tracks. Note it may need the hashbang changed to #!/bin/bash and that last I tried it had problems with ID3 tagging.
