Does anyone know the conditions for this unit to become available for development?

I think it's triggered by a time-sensitive event, because it's not tied just to the number of territories you control. I've played through the game a few times already, and it hasn't come up in every game for some reason. There's also a level 6 version of it, but I don't have a screen of that one.

When the security level in Japan drops to 0 (ie you get invaded and lose), you get an event where Mikado summons up a storm and destroys the attackers. If this happens enough times, Tsunami approaches Togo about developing a new class of battleship that has ridiculous HP + firepower but very poor radar and stupidly high research costs + command point requirements.

To give you an example, the first one you get has 480 hp and 480 lasers. It's a level 2 ship.

I read in the previous thread that you can only unlock the true ending in the non-japanification route. But after conquering everything I got two new events instead of one.

Are you guys sure that you cannot get true ending in japanification? Also I recruited Scarlett via that vendor that was in Arabia.

Mikado keeps invaders from destroying Japan with the divine wind, so that doesn't really work as a game over condition. There are no foot soldiers like in Sengoku, so giving the players a game over in the event of Togo's fleet being wiped out would make it so that no one would actually use him in battle, which jars with his characterization.

Saying that the army takes unacceptable casualties on a failed invasion is sort of plausible though, which is probably why they went with that as the game over condition.

You'll be eat your words if you level her up. Shibagami is basically Jeigan. +20% HP in 4 slots and a 240 laser ship is a ton at the beginning of the game but really pales later on, when your other admirals have much better ship bonuses and ships available to them.

Mikado, on the other hand, is Nino. She goes from having a couple of minuses to huge pluses in all categories, and her skill adds an additional 30% damage against disasters and space monsters.

You get him normally as you conquer your way up their territory.

The other one requires you to capture the former queen in suez first so as to convince him.

To that guy who asked if you can take Hawaii before 3rd gen ships, you can around turn 14-15.

Main five things you need. 1. Maki's barrier. 2. The 300 damage missile battleship on Togo. 3. If possible, 300 damage cannons. If not then just as high cannons as you can. 4. Taira Eichi. 5. Yamamoto with a laser battleship and 300 missile battleship. Rest just get his lasers or health as high as possible.

The 300 cannon damage is just in case there's only two turns in battle. If you have three then it's a cakewalk for Togo with only two ships. Then send Yamamoto, Taira, Brushwood, and Donitz against Carol's fleet.

How do you create custom admirals? Is there a menu ingame or do you need to create a new file?

Don't know if anyone else here has tried using captured generics but some of them are actually pretty decent and, unlike in BBA, choosing the prison event recruits all of them at once. Giving them some of your second-line ships means that they can defend while more of your better admirals can be dedicated to offense.

First thing you should have in mind. Time is only an issue if you want the first warp event (for avoiding a certain route) leaving that aside time is on your side, so take it easy.

Also you should check the shield ships (there are some ships without weapons, but with a skill to reduce 600 of a certain damage, buy the smallest one for defending against aircraft) and investing in aircraft if you can, because reducing your own damage and attacking faster is the key for easier victories and better defences with less admirals.

You want those. Just get one each except the Anti-Aircraft. You need at least two of those to invade Hawaii.

You need to take all the territories to win.
What I did is using 8 of my commanders with speed around 200 to 360 (to hit first) and attacks around 270 to 360. You can give a few commanders all 4 cruisers for 360 speed and attack. Take out the missiles first and then focus on the crazy lasers one. If you do it right, you should only lose one unit for each of the 6 territories. Russia was the second to last country I took over and China was the last. When fighting China, I use 2 of the units that survived with 360 attack and defense with a girl as decoy which was a breeze when compared with Russia.

AFAIK conquering the french colony before they retake Paris doesn't work (and later the soviets conquer Paris, leading to Aeris or the soviets conquering each other)
