So I've been reading this story, and though it's pretty heartwarming (at least at the part I'm at), the setting really doesn't make a lot of sense.

I mean, the androids are more human than true android. Also, I'm not sure if it's brought up later in the story or not, but wouldn't people that have relationships with androids be majorly looked down upon (especially in Japan of all places)? Not to mention it wouldn't be -that- uncommon among NEETs and other freaks.
Also, what about android rights? Would it be legal to buy one, hold it up in a room, and rape (if it can be called that) it until it shuts down from malnutrition? Surely not...

I know I'm just looking too much into it, but it just bugs me.
