/v/ is the second most cancerous board on 4chan, right after /b/. I have to say, I can't really blame OP for starting a thread elsewhere. Shit, there is a reason why /v/ refugees show up on every other board to try and discuss video games.

Although we do have video game related threads from time to time as >>7333996 pointed out, imported games are generally more of a /v/ thing, despite how unlikely it is for you to get an actual discussion going there.

Fighting games are usually accepted here though.

More generally it's doujin games that are accepted here from what I've seen, and PW is not exactly doujin.

/jp/ is about /jp/ related things.
It's a recursive board.

Some games are okay here, some are not.
But it's kind of arbitrary and hard to explain.

I'm....honestly not sure what our stance on video games is.

Of course, doujin games are acceptable here, that goes without saying, but we also have threads for other stuff as well. Non-doujin fighting games, such as GG and AH3 are discussed from time to time, and there's the occasional MMO thread. A Gust general is constantly floating around at most times as well.
