The style is certainly more interesting than anything I've seen done in months if not years, Takashi Castle style combat for war is pretty fun, but god man, first you say the MC is a Mary Sue which is pathetic, the term is overused and has lost all meaning, then you contradict yourself by saying he's a typical harem lead as if any harem leads are overpowered. You may have had an argument if all harem leads were Tenchi Masaki but lately all we've got are introverted socially awkward clueless guys now.

I also challenge that main characters can't be Mary Sue's of their own work, the term applies to bad fan fiction and should have remained there. Besides, he's unsure of himself, makes mistakes, caused a war by his ignorance, and is constantly yelled at for not understanding the rules of the game which is valid after awhile because he should have damn well studied by now, even 1 day should have brought him enough knowledge not to start a damn war. Fallibility = not Mary Sue.

The show's not supposed to be the next fucking Evangelion, it's just supposed to be a fun time waster but you're losing the point and made me argue about nothing.

Also, I wouldn't put it passed the producer of Nanoha to turn what should be just a final arc for the last few episodes to deal with the fate from the starts and whatnot and attempt an Eva style look on society that falls flat on it's face. Just at how the guy behind Nanoha decided Force would be a good idea for that series....

Since you haven't been paying attention, here's how that part of the plot has evolved so far.
- MC and his summoner find out he can't go back.
- He freaks out for a moment.
- People promise to find a way to send him back.
- He's okay with that and decides to enjoy his time there.
Then, in the latest episode:
- He remembers he can't go back home and worries a bit.
- Then he remembers lolidog is trying to find a way back.
- All's right with the world.
- Tittycat predicts the future and finds out he's going to die.

But then again, why should I explain why I'm having fun watching this show? Maybe it only caters to people about as autistic as I am, but if I like it who gives a fuck. I'll continue enjoying it until it becomes bad, in my opinion. Thanks for caring.

Also, as moe, this series utterly falls on its face. A truly moe character has a more fleshed-out personality and will establish itself as more than an archetype and a hairstyle in the mind of the viewer. There are no characters that feel unique enough to register as a single and remarkable entity in my mind; while I can certainly indulge in the moe of Lucky Star or Bakemonogatari, I cannot find anything particularly cute about the characters of Dog Days. Their personalities are nonexistant, they don't feel like human, relatable characters. They are two-dimensional and as such it it hard to fall for them.

The art is nothing special; it doesn't look goofy, which is a plus, but there's nothing especially remarkable about the style, and it oftentimes the scenery feels bland.

Just my two cents.

Has any of it led to any change? It's mostly just preaching to the choir, which is basically entertainment because it's purpose is to allow viewers to feel satisfied through the confirmation of their beliefs.

As for preaching to the choir, this is another thing I can't prove, but I can say that I've seen plenty of anime that haven't just gone with the grain. Even if there are several anime that repeat points that the audience may agree with, I feel that as an art medium anime can articulate the problem much better than just words can. I can tell you why I think X needs to change, but I truly can't show you why.

Except there weren't any of them, at least not in the past three years.
The main problem here is that because of a few stereotypes happening here and there (mainly a nearly all-female cast, MC who gets dropped in a faraway land and so on), people/trolls are believing that DD is simply yet another generic harem anime. Sure, there were a few stupid moments that relate to that genre, but they're not the focus of the show - as I see it, it's just one guy enjoying his time in a fantasy world by fighting and having fun. That's what's happened so far, at least, I have no idea of what's going to happen from now on (especially now that the main plot point has appeared).
Then again, this is just like arguing with a wall. I'll continue believing that DD is a good show, or has been a good show so far, and that the fact that people are only picking on its weak points is just 4chan being 4chan as usual. I just hope the show doesn't really evolve into some haremshit, but if it does I'll openly admit that the show was not that good at all.
