Is there a way to make Japanese programs work on an American computer without having to install support for East Asian languages via the Windows XP disk?

No

Why do you like going out of the way to make things more complicated?

You can download all the language packs off the windows updater. Download it off that or try googling it and download it off the microsoft website.

Type your question into google. You gotta grow up and figure this out on your own.

No. Use the windows updater... It's on the options list of stuff you can download, or download some torrent of xp and mount it if that's the only way you can figure this out.

>>7307475
I know this sounds noobish, but where's the options? are you talking about the options on teh Windows update screen?

BTW, I have a genuine copy of Windows XP. I won't use a torrent.

You don't need the Japanese Display Language. What you need is the Japanese locale. Go to Region and Language settings until you find some option involving unicode support. Set it to Japanese.

Yes. You can select options and asian language pack is one of them. If you download a torrent of XP you don't need to reinstall your system just use it to get the language pack off.

I found some torrent http://btjunkie.org/torrent/Files-Necessary-To-Install-East-Asian-Languages-14-12-08/39522673687d5a3

It was linked from here http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-desktop/downloading-east-asian-language-
pack-without-an-xp/68b1d65b-ce3a-4444-85a4-34f9b57da458

I don't know if these are legit but here is something if you can't figure out how to use the windows updater. Last reply from me. If this doesn't work type shit into google and try and figure it out yourself it's more rewarding.
