This is kind of /g/, sorry in advanced.

But I was just wondering what keyboards you guys are using? And if you guys have ever cleaned them. Anyone still got a Model M?

Also mouses I guess.

Das III + G5

Every week I wipe down all the keys with lysol, and turn my keyboard upside down and give it a really good shake to get out any loose dirt. You'd be amazed at how much shit gets in your keyboard, even if you consider yourself to be a really clean person. Once a year I take it apart for a good cleaning.

I also, have a Model M, but don't use it due to ghosting issues.

I've been using this keyboard since it launched almost 3 years, and it's gotten to the point where I can't type well on normal keyboards, because I end up not pressing the keys hard enough.

>>7301907
Is it louder than the Model M?

>> No.7301934

>>7301901
Not the guy you're replying to, but.

The sound is about standard for a keyboard that uses blue cherry switches.

But how is it? Well, it's a Razer product, you should know what to expect. It's crammed full of useless LEDs, and has some macro features that can just as easily be achieved through software. Also, it's manufactured by the same company that makes the Ione Scorpius mechanical keyboard, which is known for having some really bad QA issues. Like getting it out of the box, and opening it up to find soldered connections that failed and were hot glued back into place. They might have stepped up their game for Razer, but I'd still avoid it.

black widow. two features i don't like are the extra keys on the left side and it only has 6 key ghosting not perfect n-key rollover. i'm not playing an mmo like wow where i could be hitting 6 hits at the same time so it's not a problem for the most part. still it's kinda annoying it doesn't have it.
