Koishi couldn't stand the hate she got for her mind reading, so she got rid of it. She had no idea what else it would do.

Koishi's consciousness isn't to happy with the situation, and her subconscious doesn't care, or rather can't care. She regrets it constantly; the bit that you mentioned was her consciousness finally getting a thought through her eye. Remember how the eye twitched a bit in that scene?

Not being able to feel sad is not the same as being happy. Believe me when I say it's not anywhere near the same thing.

For the longest time nothing ever bothered me. Nothing could make me mad or sad. When my grandmother, who took care of me for much of my childhood, died I felt nothing. When my parents got divorced I watched my mother and little sister cry and the only thing that bothered me a little was that I was completely unmoved.
I could smile and laugh with friends and nothing could hurt me.
For twenty and some years I lived like this wishing someone could just kill me.

Feeling no pain makes existance meaningless, happiness worthless, and the only way out is death.

Oh also could you please explain to me why exactly your existence felt meaningles because of this?
I don't really understand how the lack of pain while still being able to have fun makes you wanna die

I can only speak for myself but I lived like that for over 20 years. It's nothing if not comfortable, kind of like you ran from a pack of wolves and managed to hide in a little hole and you know they can't reach you in there, nothing can hurt you in there, but eventually youll realise that you have to eat too.

Even if you're not aware of them you can't eliminate your emotions, some effect of them will seep through no matter how deeply you seal them away.
Of course, Koishi is a youkai so noone knows if that goes for her but I find it hard to theorize by assuming everything you know is wrong to begin with.

Interesting.
What was the cause of this?
Were you born with a mental illness?

Darn I can't post Koishi pictures anymore since I'm on my laptop
