I have just finished reading the Eustia demo and I am hopeful that it will get picked for the main release.
I liked it so far but I have a few complaints as well as compliments. First off I really enjoyed the hopelessness of the Prison and its lack of government intervention unless there is something there to benefit the government. Second I was really pissed that there was nothing but Real Deal story lines and setting and they were dropped and ignored to shove a pure, hard life heroine #5801 and the MC actually has untapped emotions for her. As on anon said I did not enjoy any scene with her, I enjoyed the Fione and Eris though, I am a sucker for duty type heroines and I feel that Eris can be done well in the writting if they actually decide to give her a little more dept and development.
I have how a lot VNs have incredibly interesting concepts and elements in the beginning and then falls into stereotypes and mediocrity after the prologue. This story has an excellent setting but I world hope for more world exploring and developing the story beyond lol magic with less eroge shit. I have faith that this will be good though as it has the all the tools to be memorable.

So yeah. Doki fansub is going to translate Tomoyo After.
Without using scripts from Baka Tsuki.
Because they would need to "check out their work, style and consistency as well as adapting to their fonts and such".
Let me repeat that. "Adapting to their fonts".
And after that they plan to tackle Air.
Oh, and they only need translator to get the project going.

Chapter 3 is nearly double the lines of chapter 4, and he said he could have chapter 4 done by end of May at the earliest. But starting June, there'll be slowdowns since he'll be with school and part time job.

But, yeah. Early 2012 release is possible. I can't wait to play and discuss it.

God bless the guy for trying but a. there is someone "working" on it b. the Key craze is in Rewrite and Little Busters! and c. there is a lot of work by someone to be recruited for meaning he has to want it more than anyone else.
The translator in the vast majority of cases is the leader and center point of the group. If I said that I wanted to start a project, Himawari for example, and made a thread on /jp/ I would get my ass laughed off of here if I said I was only an editor that couldn't read anything but english and spanish.

I am recruiting a translator to translate it, yes. But this does not mean that my other translators (who also translate anime) can't work on it in their spare time. A dedicated translator on it means that this can be finished faster than without one.

Anime episodes are also only about 450ish lines. Single lines, not three or four line text boxes worth of lines. So doing the equivilent work on a VN is probably around 200 lines.

Honestly, given how poorly animated many shows seem to be these days, VNs could be easier to translate since you could have voice and text instead of just voice.
