Hello there, I'm your algebra tutor for today. I heard you did poorly on the midterm; but you should still be able to salvage your final grade as long as you study diligently.

I love math
but I'm a physics major and have to learn programming in order to makes basic programs and use them to solve equations and whatnot

but programming SUCKS

nevertheless I have to learn it

anyone here is good at it?

I'd ask at /g/ or /sci/ but theyre kinda assholes

Programming isn't my strong suite, but I could probably tutor anybody here in any physics or mathematics subjects at the undergraduate level. I have a lot of raw intelligence and (for now) jack shit all to do with it.

If it didn't set off all the red flags in my head part of me would want to avatar as Koakuma and do it here.

Do rho and theta first, which gives you a constant of 81 pi /2 out front, and then sin*cos is solved by a simple u-sub. I suspect you've written the problem incorrectly, though, because theta isn't an argument of integrand.

Math was always my weakest class. Ever since 7th grade pre-algebra, it was a constant problem up until university.

Probably didn't help that almost all of my math teachers were horrible people that really should not have been anywhere near children and teenagers, let alone teaching mathematics to them.

Fortran is still actually used in the scientific community, especially when it comes to phd level work.
As for pascal, I personally think everyone who programs should have some exposure to it. Almost every company that has a bunch of legacy code will have some, and it also has some syntax that is different from the c-style that is dominant in the most common languages today.

The only time I've ever used it was for legacy code and to make a Pascal to JVM compiler, but I could think of more useless programming things to spend 10-20 hours or so on. Like Brainfuck. Or Java EE.
I mean you already end up learning stuff like lisp/scheme, scala, obj-c, prolog, ml, perl, python, ada, smalltalk, asm, etc to expand your mind and make you a better programmer, but most are not going to be used in your corporate environment. What's one or two more?
Just be glad you don't ever have to use VHDL.
not /jp/ though you'd probably get better answers here than /g/.
