16 teams in total make the playoffs - 8 from the west, 8 from the east. #1 in the west faces #8 in the west, #2 faces #7, etc. Likewise in the east. Losers of each series gets eliminated (duh) while winners of each series faces each other akin to what I described earlier.

Mano-chan birthday event was glorious, she even cried a little bit (they were tears of happiness of course!).

Bus tour announcement made me really happy and really sad at the same time, it is the one weekend in June when I simply cannot go ;_;
I guess I will hold out for a third bus tour in the next year or two.

Berryz concerts on sunday were really good as well, had a shit ticket for the afternoon (second floor) but around ninth row in dead center during the evening, which was pretty good.

I used to be all around /jp/, I was one of the first people in the Morning Musume thread, which is the other idol thread you're referring to, but the people got really annoying and lame so we started this one about the other groups which I am much more of a fan of anyway. I don't know much about touhou but have always loved the 2D, and I do watch some animu and Jdrama, so sometimes I participate in those types of threads. Also, freakishly enough, I love Kigurumi and dolls, but don't own any myself ww~

I don't follow the draft much at all other than the stuff they mention on ESPN and stuff, since I don't even watch college football, so I don't know much of the up and comers other than the huge names like Cam Newton and the other big QBs that are probably all going early on in the draft to the bills, panthers, cardinals and such. But Ravens just lost T.J. Houshmandzadeh, which is actually really lame, so I assume we'll pick a wide receiver, no names come to mind though.

No shit... my /jp/ history is weird in that I'm technically an 'oldfag' (was here at the split, made one of the first few threads IIRC) but after a couple of months I stopped visiting for ages, so I am probably more clueless than many newcomers.

Anyway, reading this just made me realise how much the name 'ReiNya' reminds me of those days. So I saw their performance earlier tonight... You know, I'm not a big fan of these kinds of girls' groups, but they were pretty good. The fans were annoying as fuck though. I sat down behind a child, figuring I'd be able to see over him, so it was perfect. His 500 pound whale of a mother stands up, blocking my view, and starts trying to dance along with Berryz (she apparently only knew the dances in three second bits, since she was starting and stopping, jiggling all over blocking my field of view). That's just the highlight, there were creepy old guys with jerseys with the girls' names on them who were dancing along as well... it was all very strange, and completely unlike the exist trace show yesterday.

I'm not into idols. I went to Sakuracon just for Vocaloid and Touhou-related things, you know? Still, I went to the Berryz concert because I thought it would be a waste for me to skip it after they came all this way; after all, I don't dislike them, either.

The concert room was pretty packed towards the front, and there were seats towards the back with a few people in them. The middle area was still pretty crowded, but there was arm room. I came in a bit late, and the concert had already started, so I just settled for that center area.

I'm sure there were dedicated fans towards the front, but it seemed like the real hardcore guys were towards the middle so they could dance along.

One guy in particular next to me was screaming at the top of his lungs, dancing with some real intensity, his face drenched in sweat. I had to double take because I realized that it wasn't sweat--it was tears.

This man was so moved by the concert that he couldn't help but cry tears of joy. Even though what I was watching wasn't my own passion, I felt a sort of chain reaction at the amount of love generated in the room, and I started to tear up, too.

I've only ever had a passing interest in this kind of thing, but suddenly I think I'd like to learn some more. That was such a great experience that I'm sad I wasn't a fan from the start to be able to enjoy it on the level of the guy next to me.

i've never really cared for idols but its kind of nice to be able to nerd out in the middle of a room and be surrounded by a bunch of people who are doing the same thing. there are designated wotagei (the dance routines) for different songs. it's not something i do regularly but still... it's fun. i'm more used to momoi songs and people busting out ultra orange (glowsticks that burn bright but only for a few minutes) for one song, then for another song they crack some new ones.

Yes, it does seem expensive. We'd be getting some apartment if we did anyway, so hopefully we wouldn't have to move to the shittiest part of town to find an affordable one. My brother works for a big hotel chain and could pretty much solidify a full-time job if he wanted to move, however I am unemployed.
