Question:
Up until the moebius factory I was getting S ranks left and right. Now I'm getting C's and D's. What happened?

Hell, I actually have some idea what I'm doing in battles now and it's still happening. I didn't know what X did or how purges worked until I hit Ciela Gate (still spotty on the latter, I've never had a cinematic purge).

Did it ever cross your mind to open the manual? Or pay attention to the in-game tutorials, at all?

>> No.7201219

>>7201053

Stop running in then, I guess. I played on hard mode on my first playthrough but I generally stood back and ONLY went in to do a supermove on a red beat. Doing this 8 times guarantees a level 1-4 purge which is how most battles are won. If you're still early in the game then you only really need to purge once and then just wait a few seconds then just throw your magic at the enemy, it usually gibs them and gets you a decent rank.

I'm going to have to load up my phase 1 save and go and hammer out Luca's Phase 2 and her cosmosphere... her cosmosphere just before the lock out really makes me want to know her a bit more... Score 1 to the writers and the director on that mark. I'm currently having an absolute ball with Jakuri's L6+ cosmosphere with all the 'veiled' background to her.

On another note... I nearly squealed like a little girl when Spica opened up her 'I want to eat a whole bucket's worth' option for her store and there were the overpriced (because of shipping costs) funbuns, dokkoi sets, BBQ sodas and other AT1 items.

Yeah, I similarly felt kind of bad about abandoning Cloche when doing my second run.

That's bullshit and you know it. Both Luca and Cloche are built around a simple personality conflict. Cloche is the typical tsundere ojou-sama fare making her about as human as a brick. Luca has that reversed and it's only because most people don't enjoy a girl revealing she was a two faced liar that hated them all along that her type of character isn't as overused in eroge as Cloche's is.

I don't know about other people but Luca and Cloche didn't elicit anything out of me, unless you consider disinterest an emotion. The Infelsphere was particularly bad, I was very close to dropping the game because having to watch the retarded "my life sucked more than yours" argument over and over was the worst experience in any game I have ever played and the main reason I consider AT2 half as good as AT1 if not worse.

>> No.7213553

No, though depending on how you distributed your heart points (the "who do I want to protect more?" decisions) you could get Tyria or Cocona's endings on that playthrough.

There's a full guide on the endings here: http://artonelico.isisview.org/viewtopic.php?f=144&t=1822

Basically, you can NG+ to phase 2 which is before making any route-determining decisions, or you can NG+ to MYU which is after the heart point choices but before the bad end/normal end/phase 4-determining events.

The tl;dr is that giving one girl three points locks you into their normal/true no matter what, while splitting 2:1 lets you alternately choose Tyria or Cocona but not the girl you gave only one point to.

Also note that you won't get a trophy or extra scene by 2:1ing a girl's normal end. I'm pretty sure you don't lose anything for 2:1ing a girl's true end, though, you just have to clear their cosmosphere to lock in their ending (which I'd imagine you'd do anyway.)

This is going to sound absolutely retarded, but...

I've loved this game since the first time a friend of mine showed me the intro to the first game way back when the first game came out. About a year or two ago, I had an idea about making a card game for it.

You can go ahead and laugh now.

Anyway, I could never really pin down a system that worked, made sense, and didn't get so mind-bogglingly complicated that it wasn't worth playing.

...Until last night. I've put together a basic set of rules, but I'm still working on it a bit; especially on different types for the Vanguards. But, anyway, before I posted what I've worked on so far, I was curious to see if there'd actually be any interest in something like this. Honestly, I'd need help making cards, having people play it to test balancing issues, that kind of thing.

...Especially the making cards part. I have no graphic skills to speak of. If I could get someone to make a template for each type of card, I might be able to do something, but...

Meh. Anyway. I'm rambling now. Please post if you have an interest, and if I see there's enough of one, I'll post a link to what I have.

Yeah, Ar Tonelico 2 is very annoying about that. Basically, you won't progress further than 7 in either Cosmosphere until Cloche makes her speech near the beginning of Phase 5. Ar Tonelico 1 had no such restriction, IIRC. I hope Ar Tonelico 3 isn't like 2.

3 is the same, only you can reach level 8 instead of level 5 this time. You need 3 talk topics on the next level in order to progress and these usually come from story events, having certain items in your inventory and finding the little talk topics available in towns and such. It works quite well really since you don't get that much DP in AT3 so it scales rather nicely this time instead of having 99999 DP 2-3 hours into the game and being unable to do anything with it.

I'm doing a Cloche/Jakuri playthrough at the moment as well, which kinda sucks because Luca isn't getting that many sync events with Jakuri and Cloche's L5 cosmosphere leaves her with only 2 costumes and very low powered spells. At that point, your best bet would be to use Replakia and nail a big OHKO hit with Jakuri's 'My Slaves' song family, just have enough MP to last the full 4 part evolve chain. That combo is netting me more punch than proper synchronity evolved combination magic. I just can't wait to get access to Frelia's cosmosphere so I can grab the Phantasmagoria synchronity spell.

Some things I'm still debating:

Drawing: Right now I have it down as drawing one card per turn a la Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc., however a thought I've entertained for awhile is switching it to something similar to the system used in Digimon Card Battle, where one draws until their hand is full at the Draw Phase, and then is able to discard unwanted cards during the End Phase. I feel like such a tactic would encourage more active use of cards and larger deck sizes.

Vanguard Types: I kinda... lost my old perfected save file for AT1, so this is based off of my very incomplete, very old first Misha game save. If anyone has a save with a more complete Extras section, I could really use it. PS3 or PCSX2 format would work. Anyway, similarly, I seem to have misplaced my copy of AT2 when I moved, so until I get PCSX2 to work the way I want it, I don't have any access to that Extras section either. *sighs* The Vanguard types are based, therefore, on only my quick browsing of the enemy cards in the AT1. I know more types will need to be added, but this'll do for now. At least you know what I'm going for.

...Apparently my comments were too long for one post. Ah well.

Next, a few things that aren't noted in the rules, but that I have planned anyway:

At the moment, there are two types of "tokens." My mental image of them is more like damage counters in the Pokemon TCG. One set of these tokens works the exact same way as in Pokemon: they're designed to keep track of the damage done to a card. The other type, Burst Tokens, are to keep track of your Reyvateil's current Burst Level.

Reyvateil cards are divided based on their level. You can only have four Lv. 1 Reyvateil cards and they're kept separate from the rest of your deck so you don't have to draw ad infinitum until you get one. Similarly, Lv. 1's require no Emotions to be on the field. However, Lv. 2 and Lv. 3 cards you draw from the deck and work like evolutions in Pokemon. You place them on top of the Lv. 1/2 Reyvateil and it makes them more powerful. Obviously these are costumes/purges. I'm thinking Lv. 2's will require two Emotions on the field and Lv. 3's will require, well, three. This also more balances the choice of using one or two Reyvateil at the same time, as, obviously, you would not be able to reach Lv. 3 with two Reyvateil on the field.

Yeah, I think that's it. Questions, comments, criticism go.

For Replakia, I'm thinking something like this:

Install
This card cannot be played unless there is a [Cloche] card in the Battle Area.
For the duration of this card, [Cloche]'s MP is doubled and her Burst is equal to her displayed Burst value + 1 for each Reyvateil in the Battle Area or Reyvateil Deck, not including [Cloche] herself.
This card is removed once a player uses a Reyvateil attack after its activation or if the [Cloche] card is removed from the Battle Area.

I think this would effectively mirror it's purpose in the game without making it ridiculously broken.

>>7216808

By biggest question right now is how will "leveling up" reyvateils work? Will their level 1 stats/skills be completely overwritten by their level 2 stats/skills, and so on? Or will it be less far-reaching?

When can reyvateils be leveled up? If it's during the reyvateil phase, then I think that adds some strategy since vanguards have to survive a turn before their emotions become useful. I assume the emotions on the field are only important when actually playing higher-level reyvateils on the field initially, so players can switch vanguards and then play a different reyvateil card that has different requirements.

You've said vanguards can be replaced, but damage transfers over when this happens. What happens when a vanguard goes down? As I expect, will the player have the option of replacing him/her/it with either another vanguard or another reyvateil on their next turn?

Will vanguards all have about the same utility? Right now, I see no limitation on playing vanguard cards besides "I need x and y emotions to play z card on my next turn," so people are going to gravitate towards stronger or more useful vanguards.

I like how you've designed the battle phase to promote gathering high amounts of burst before releasing spells, since to use a spell requires the player to give up two or three vanguard attacks.

It seems to me, in absence of almost any knowledge of item, event or install cards, that deck compositions will be skewed towards vanguard cards. The reason being a player won't ever want there to be less than the maximum number of vanguard cards on the field at the end of their own turn. That way they maximize their defense against song magic, and also have more attacks available to use on opponent vanguards.

In the same line of maximizing resource utilization reasoning, players would probably be encouraged to keep an install card active at all times if they can. If you go with the draw until the hand is full approach this will certainly be the case. If you stick with the one card per turn then there are greater opportunity costs of having too many install cards in a hand, which will promote having fewer install cards in a deck.

Will having two reyvateils on the field be worth the sacrifice of a third vanguard? Having three vanguards would make it very difficult for the vanguard line to be broken through, and also gives players another vanguard attacker. In contrast, having two reyvateils increases the risk of getting precious reyvateils damaged. Most importantly, there's one less defender. And, if the vanguard line wipes, then conceivably more than one reyvateil could be damaged or lost. There's also the loss of one attacker. I can't imagine a linear increase in burst rate and max burst to make this very worthwhile, so I think there will have to be some added bonus to having two reyvateils on the field at once, whether through card effects or built directly into the system.

Also, two-reyvateil strategies will have a weaker start, since it seems like only one reyvateil card can be played per turn, which means there will be an unutilized slot reserved for the second reyvateil during the first battle phase.

Have you considered what platform you're going to use to make this game? I assume physical systems are a little out of the question. But I'm not very familiar with what's available out there in terms of digital card game open platforms. What you choose might impose some limitations.

While the /jp/ AT thread is fine and all for gathering attention and brainstorming, I'd say you're probably better off in the long run establishing a little more controlled area to discuss development and recruit help. I recommend http://artonelico.isisview.org/ because it's a fairly active AT-focused community, and they at least have some people that can do image editing. It's probably the best place to get started. However, if you really want to get things rolling probably the best option would be to recruit help from the Japanese AT community. If you look at the game sales, AT is several times more popular in Japan than it is in the US, so if you can overcome the language barrier you're probably much more likely to receive help.

>>By biggest question right now is how will "leveling up" reyvateils work? Will their level 1 stats/skills be completely overwritten by their level 2 stats/skills, and so on? Or will it be less far-reaching?

Your initial assumption is correct. Their stats and abilities are completely overwritten by the new card. Much like in the Pokemon TCG, it is placed on top of the old card and replaces it, while still retaining damage/burst/etc. Perhaps I should better phrase that in the rules.

Reyvateil cards can be... you know, actually, I hadn't thought of that. I think I had originally deigned them to be usable in the Preparation Phase, but having them only able to do it in the Reyvateil Phase makes more sense.

>>You've said vanguards can be replaced, but damage transfers over when this happens. What happens when a vanguard goes down? As I expect, will the player have the option of replacing him/her/it with either another vanguard or another reyvateil on their next turn?

Yes. There's really no downside to losing a Vanguard at this point, as you can very easily replace them the next turn.

>>Will vanguards all have about the same utility? Right now, I see no limitation on playing vanguard cards besides "I need x and y emotions to play z card on my next turn," so people are going to gravitate towards stronger or more useful vanguards.

True enough. This is a balancing issue I'm going to have to work at. The main problem being that, as I wish to use monsters to boost the Vanguard lineup, I'll have to make the monsters, well... not suck. I'd prefer not to have trash cards that no one will ever use like in YGO.

Very true. This is also derived from Pokemon and YGO (can't tell I played these a lot, can you?). Monsters are the backbone of both games, and while usable cards are great for support, except in certain instances, you're going to want people on the field covering your ass. I.e. this was intentional.

Grah. Text limits.

Very true. And as I don't plan (currently) to have many installs with immediate effects that you can take advantage of by quickly switching out, this seems to be a pretty strong argument for keeping it limited to one-card drawing. It also makes it more difficult for you to keep your Vanguards out at all times, as you mentioned earlier.

Did I mention text limits?

The main idea here is that a single Reyvateil will be able to level all the way up quickly and thus gain a good Burst while relying on her Vanguards to protect her. In the two Reyvateil scenario, you don't have as much Vanguard defense, but you are essentially gaining extra MP and extra Burst each turn. As I mentioned in the rules, in a dual Reyvateil situation, the Reyvateil attacking uses the burst of both Reyvateil's on the field. So let's say Cloche is attacking and has, I dunno, 5 burst tokens. Not bad. But Luca is on the field too with... meh, 4 tokens. Suddenly Cloche's spell has 9 tokens, even if her MP is too low to normally attack with that much Burst. Hopefully that example explains it. In theory, a two Reyvateil set-up, seeing as it can attack other Reyvateil's directly, could win faster, but it's a gamble.

>>Also, two-reyvateil strategies will have a weaker start, since it seems like only one reyvateil card can be played per turn, which means there will be an unutilized slot reserved for the second reyvateil during the first battle phase.

...Hm. I thought I had put that you could place up to two... I'll have to remedy that. I need to make sure you can only level one Reyvateil a turn as well...

>>Have you considered what platform you're going to use to make this game? I assume physical systems are a little out of the question. But I'm not very familiar with what's available out there in terms of digital card game open platforms. What you choose might impose some limitations.

Yeah. I hadn't even really put any real consideration into that yet. At the moment I was focusing on getting the game put together and then, after, a decent library of cards. I have NO idea what kind of systems are out there, but... for the moment, something akin to a physical system was the idea. Kind of dumb to print them out to play, but...

Something else that occurred to me: you'll probably want to make a card that allows players to discard cards in their hand for some benefit. It's very plausible that players will have reyvateil cards they'll never use since there's only one of each level 1, but possibly multiples of level 2/3s to increase the chances of having the card when it's needed. Yet only one of each can ever be played.

All righty, I've started playing Ar Tonelico Qoga for the first time. The in-game graphics aren't bad at all, though it probably helps I have an HD TV. I just wish the character sprites were a little more expressive; like frown or make an angry gesture, but (so far) they just stand in the same pose even when they're expressing anger or distress.

Voice acting's okay. Aoto sounds a bit younger than I imagined. He's okay so far; he's noticably more (openly) perverted than the other two protagonists. Tatsumi is Ichigolouchevash. Saki's your typical mysterious, quiet nice girl with loss memory and her voice is what you'd expect. Oh, and dem tits. Can't say much more about her until the story progresses.

Trying to get used to battles. I think I have the hang of it even though they only let you do the basic stuff so far (no Purges or Supermoves yet). I do have a few questions as far as gameplay:

1. What do the different colors for the Talk Topics represent? I see purple, green, and blue. I'm guessing purple dots have to be filled in order to Dive into her, but what about the others?

2. Is the normal battle theme random? I notice as I was encountering that they switched between at least 2 different battle themes (or they're simply different variations of the same theme and I just don't notice that yet).

3. Just how frequent are missable talk topics? Are there times where I have to go all the way back to old towns/dungeons (say you made it to the third town/dungeon but a talk topic appears back in the first areas and you have to go back for them even though the story doesn't require you go back) to get them before they expire? I hate having to stop my story progression too much because of backtracking.

4. (Rhetorical question) WHY THE HELL DID THEY GET RID OF THE MINI-MAP? First Ar Tonelico 2 banished it to a separate screen (but at least it was still there), now there's none at all. Come on, Gust!

>> No.7222150

>>7222087
1. I've wondered this myself. In the previous games, I always thought that you needed to fill all the purple ones before you could dive to the next level, but in this game I'd often see them tell me "you can go to the next layer" before I'd done so. Also I have no idea what the green ones mean.

2. It's based on the reyvateil you have, and what hyumas you are using.

3. I think I've missed a bunch, but nothing that's stopped me from progressing in the cosmosphere or anything. If you're a completionist you might have a hard time, but I'm not sure whether they're stuff I actually missed or just haven't fulfilled the conditions for yet.

>> No.7222205

>>7222087

1)I'm actually not entirely sure, but I'm guessing that they correspond to where they come from (ie plot vs. picked up off the ground vs. crafting or something.) You still need 3 (I think?) topics in a level to advance, though, it just doesn't fill in from left to right like in 1/2.

2)It's mostly based on which Reyvatail/persona you have on you, with some level of variance based on the hyumas you have and probably some random factors as well.

3)There's a bunch of missable ones, but there's also no reason to get 100% of them other than being a hardcore completionist.

4)Yeah, lack of a mini-map is pretty fucking obnoxious, especially in a particular maze-ey area that you have to go through multiple times later in the game.

Thank you for the responses!

Based on y'alls posts, I think I can figure out what the colors mean.

Purple - Plot-based. Aoto asked Saki how she turned the enemies into cakes.
Green - Battle-based. I assume this is the topic that appears when Saki gets attacked in battle and Aoto asks if she's all right.
Blue - Seen as balls of light in towns or dungeons.

Also, anyone else annoyed with the voice clip delay during dialouge? One time the voice didn't start up until about 3 seconds, I almost thought it was a silent voice scene. I hate having to wait 3+ seconds just to hear the voice or to confirm if it's a silent voice scene. The other two games didn't have this problem, not sure why this one does.

Loading shit off of a blu-ray tends to be slow, that's why PS3 games tend to have mandatory installs in the first place, but it's a little much to dump all voice data onto the hard dtive. They get around this by loading the next voice clip while the current one is playing, but that doesn't help with the first one in a scene, so you get that delay.

>>7223507
Well, assuming you know the obvious... (hold multiple shoulder buttons when you do the purge to do a multi-purge)

You basically need to keep getting beat ups after it says purge ready. (The "purge ready" message is only for a single level purge.) In my experience it tends to be about 2 -> 5 -> 8 supermove beat ups (the attack must hit, just seeing the "beat up" sign doesn't necessarily mean that it did) for a single, double, and triple purge. (I don't use quad purge because in my opinion it's pretty useless.) The amount will change a little bit depending on which reyvateil and persona you are using. Also, multi-purging isn't really more "efficient" in any way besides saving time, so if you find yourself in a difficult battle you may want to just do it the normal way.

Using a supermove to beat up gets you to the point of being able to purge faster than normal attacks.

I'm pretty sure multi-purging just requires you to beat up enough that you could purge to that level one at a time anyway. It's actually less optimal from a min/max standpoint to do it that way, since sitting at a lower purge level longer than you absolutely have to means you go longer at a lower charge rate and without hyuma buffs.

There's a trophy for doing a triple purge (I think it requires you to do a long animation one,) so I'd try and pull it off at least once, though.

>> No.7226282

I used to find multi-purges to be faster, but now I don't use them as much. I usually just beat up as long as I see a long string of them, then purge (not on a red line) when there's a gap, which will usually bring me to the next sequence of lines. Your beat power also carries over if you do it this way.

Also, do you lose out on anything if you don't purge on a red line? (Besides the animation, of course.) I've been avoiding it lately to save time, at least during random battles.

I just download the first Ar Tonelico a few days ago and my emulator keeps crashing.

What does /jp/ use to play it?

Also, should I get all the talk topics in a level and then do the Paradigm Shift or should I Shift whenever possible?

People use the latest beta version of PCSX2 (don't use the "stable version" from the site, it sucks, even the site itself tells you that). There's a torrent in the first response in this thread that has (an older?) beta version along with bios, and Ar Tonelico 1 and 2. Though the AT2 in the torrent is the undub version, so if you want dub voices you'll have to find it somewhere else like The Pirate Bay.

Oh, also, you don't have to find every talk topic in one level to enter and finish that Cosmosphere level, just the ones marked in purple. You should try to dive into her whenever you can so you can get her costumes and more spells.

Inside the Cosmosphere there are a number of events you can visit. Usually the ones with big golden star, with 3 stars in the text box, are the ones that progress the level. But there are optional events as well (usually ones with less than 3 stars). You should always try to go to optional events first before progressing. Some are just a fun little backstory about the girl, some might even give you a new Song.

Cocona: ...

Aoto: ...Don't go.

Cocona: ...Huh?

Aoto: Stay in this world with me. I like you. I want you to stay.

Cocona: ...Thank you. I like you, too, but I have to go back.

Cocona: I promised the person who raised me and all my friends back home that I'd return someday. So...

Aoto: Don't go...! I need you by my side!

Aoto: Even when you were still Tatsumi, you always made me feel relieved.

Aoto: You know I act pretty reckless, right? But I'm actually pretty chicken. Because you're so meticulous, I felt safe.

Aoto: I can't even think of what it'd be like to be apart from you! I thought we'd always be together...

Aoto: I never thought saying goodbye to you would be so hard...

Cocona: ...Aoto.

Aoto: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get this emotional. I'm supposed to send you off with a smile...

Aoto: Just forget everything I just said. I wish the best for you.

Cocona: ...Alright.

Aoto: Huh?

Cocona: ...Then, wait for me.

Aoto: Cocona?!

Cocona: Now, I'm making a promise to you. I will come back here someday. Can you wait for me till that day...?

Aoto: ...Sure. But...if you take too long, I might come around to pick you up.

Cocona: ...Okay. If that day happens, I'll welcome you! I want you to see the people I love, too.

Cocona: I also wanna prove to them that way beyond the horizon, there's a man who is incredibly stupid and...Very, very cool.

Cocona: Thank you, Aoto. I'm so fortunate that I met you here.

I just started playing it, and met Dr. Hikari Gojo (are they seriously going to say and show his full name every time?). I learned that NISA upped Cocona's age for some reason. Does that mean "Tatsumi"'s age got upped, too? How old are they really supposed to be in AT3?

Meh, just before the 'fake' wedding was there you have enough clues about Tatsumi being Cocona. At that point her voice started to revert once, she had gergo doodled patches to block reyvateil signals and she's in possession of a Heart of Gaia and needed to go to Harvestasya. The occasional boos were a bonus.

As for the age discrepency, I haven't gone through it yet but Cocona claimed her age to be 15 when she was disguised as Tatsumi. If the status screen for Cocona shows more than 13, then they've upped the age. Then again, I believe in the Settei book they've made a mistake and listed Cocona as being 15 so that's not really a good bit of 'proof'. If Sasha is older than 12, then that is definitely NISA bumping ages up.

She should have been a vanguard. In my opinion she should have replaced Amarie who had almost nothing to do with the story other than her pussy-on with Chester and her Down attack is useless and completely ruins momentum due to the slow animation. Only thing she has going is delicious brown.

Of course, the downside to Cynthia joining is no more shop events with her...

>> No.7231366

>>7231345
It IS NISA bumping ages up, Cocona in the US version is 16, whereas she is 13 in the JP version. Tatsumi went from 16 to 17, if I'm not wrong. Sasha went from 12 to 15.

Then again, the subject of ages doesn't come into play throughout the game, so it's easily ignorable.

Amarie is also a story point in reminding Leglius about his family, particularly about his daughter and is somewhat responsible for his softening of attitudes. She also serves as a comparison for Croix and Cocona's relationship since she's in a similar situation with Chester.

Amarie's Psycho attacks were somewhat useful if you're doing a minimal levelling run since you won't have a large HP Pool to absorb the hits that will leak through (damn laggy engine) so the extra healing was useful. I'm talking about maybe 2500HP for the vanguards and 5-600HP for the reyvateils and only because you gave them a +300HP accessory. But yeah, her attacks in general were pretty slow in execution and without that many hits so it was a little bit difficult to build up decent combos, which were important when you're trying to get that darn Synchro that's off the charts.

*sigh* Which is more of a question of why freaken bother going through and tweaking the ages if it doesn't make much of a difference in the first place.

A few other things annoy me such as persisting with using some of the translation errors such as Tilia -> Tyria. Seeing how they took the effort to divorce AT3 of it's numeration, they could have at least divorced themselves of those mistakes.

Oh yeah, two more things about Tatsumi not being what he seems... Shop and a synthesis event has Tatsumi talking about the power of love when it comes to equipment, which makes everything think Tatsumi is just a little bit weird... thanks Cynthia for polluting Cocona's mind, and the more unlikely weapons such as an endlessly spinning giant riceball...

>> No.7231483

Only reason I can think of for upping the ages is to lessen the age differences between her and the protagonist, what with romantic implications and all (I say implications but I haven't gotten far yet to see how their 'ship goes, let alone the reveal). And because of that, other returning characters' ages got bumped as well.

Of course, whoever decided to raise the ages probably forgot that Croix was 18 and Cocona was fucking *11* in AT2.

>Okay, maybe the level is not TOO long...
>Get to what I'm guessing is one of the last events
>Not enough DP, get a crash, Finnel "dies" and I'm kicked out

Oh come on now. How do they expect us to have that much DP at that point in the game? She was barely in the party! And the party talk topic right after I return seems to imply I was meant to complete the first level on the first try.

Oh, and a bit of amusement:

>Hyuma asks me to free her
>Choose I will if you obey my commands

>Instant kick out

Besides, it was the easiest and quickest way to tell my experience, rather than writing a whole school paper over it.

Two sentences is hardly a school paper. I really don't want to derail a decent thread with such discussion, but greentext stories are a pointless and awful misuse. Going by your logic, using the quote function in such a way on /jp/ would be like saying people on /jp/ should be fine with other people declaring their "sages" and use them as insults or using emoticons.

I took a look at a guide and good god, why do the girls need so much DP in the early levels? Especially Saki, two of her mid-levels needs 20000-26000 Total DP if you want to see every event in those levels. It's as if Gust saw fans go on about how DP was almost irrelevant in the latter part of the first two games, so they decided to go to the extreme other end for this game.
