Way too elitist about things that just boil down to personal opinion most of the time, and they tend to sound like goddamn moralfags. Just finished Steins;Gate.
It was a bit different from what I expected I guess.

Is it just me or was the plot really not that good? There was so much coincidences and unexplained powers that made no sense and basically no surprising or engaging twist.
Well the twist during the credit of chapter 10 was pretty good but the ending itself was pretty weak.

What did you guys think of it?

Everyone has the potential to detect alterations in their timeline after being subjected to a sudden change, just that Okabe had the potential awakened form the very beginning and his interactions with the rest of the cast lead to a faster awakening since they were directly involved with the alterations.
You also have the universe trying to fix itself, so it isn't that strange.

Can't say the same about Nana. That's Shugos sister, no? I think she's a horrible and annoying character (but that might be just me). I only liked her in the school episode of Nagomibako. It's a not so serious episode on the fandisc and such a setting fits her character, but I don't like her in the real games. Did she even appear in Kara 1? I don't remember her, but it was my first Innogrey game and even if she had a cameo, I probably wouldn't have noticed it.

I'm sure that the Takoyaki man will appear again, he even was mentioned in Caucasus.

I wonder how the game will relate to Kara 1. I hope it will be less a direct sequel (title might change anyway) and more a game of it's own that shares some characters and story elements.

I saw an interesting comment from Sakura in the previous thread. He said that "All ages games sell better [than H-games]" or something like that when referring to why Rewrite was made to be All Ages instead of 18+. I have to wonder about that statement. If that were really true, then you wouldn't have games like Little Busters EX or Utawarerumono that have bad H-scenes that were seemingly put in for the sake of having something ero. Especially in Utawarerumono's case, I don't see why the author would almost force himself to add H-scenes unless there was a business-related reason to do so.

Having your game be 18+ also limits what voice actors you can use. Plus, I doubt they would have Ryukishi write an H scene.

These two together would be what I assume to be the reason for that tactic. Reel in the perverts, then appeal to the masses.

Though if I was a consumer, I wouldn't buy an All Ages game knowing it had ero roots. It's like I'm paying for less content, unless of course the All Ages version does add new content. In the All Ages versions where sex isn't even (supposed to be) implied, I'd be curious as to how much removing ero content changes the story or character development between versions. Which version is the "real/canon" one?

Well, in the case of LB at least, it doesn't affect it, especially considering the originally version of the game was all ages.

And it's not like one version of the game has canonical superiority over the other. In the all ages version, they don't have sex, in the 18+ version they do. It's self contained within the game itself.

I started playing G-senjou last night, and I have completed the first chapter now.

So far, I've found the heroines far more likeable than those of Sharin no Kuni. The protagonist seems a bit overdone, though (the writer has a thing for genius main characters, doesn't he?) and Maou's "game" just before the OP video was shown seemed exaggerated (the given impression was that it's a complex logical puzzle or something and Haru's intelligent for solving them, when the puzzles shown to the reader were actually very simple). I hope the puzzles will get more intricate later on.

As for the audiovisuals, I have mixed feelings. The art is overall very easy on the eyes, but there are some things that irritate me, such as the heroines having no waist in some of the sprites. It seems that the quality varies between CGs and sprites. I like many of the BGMs, but some of them annoy me, especially this one:

No, there's no confirmation whatsoever about anyone appearing in KNS2. It's just me saying that I think they'll make Yukari a heroine. Moreover I also reckon that it might continue that line of thought at the train scene with the nameless boy in the end of the true ending. I wouldn't say it's farfetched that one of the mysteries maybe centering on that boy in some way.

Well, I personally liked Nana a lot myself, though the only fault with her in my opinion was how she was so much brighter than her big brother. I loved her quacky personality and sarcastic humor though. I kinda wished she'd have appeared in KNS too, but they gave their big sister, Natsume instead (she's cool too).

And yeah Daisaku, the Takoyaki Oyaji is my favorite recurring character in everything. His role in that school chapter you mention and his minigame in Nagomibako was hilarious. His BGM is also awesome.
I didn't know he's referenced in Caucasus too, I should get around playing it I guess sometimes. How does it compare in your opinion to Pianissimo and Cartagra and Kara no Shoujo?

Nana maybe wasn't that bad at all, I just didn't like her as a cheap way to push the story forward. Whenever it was getting interesting she appeared with solutions out of nowhere and crushed the atmosphere (at least for me).

But only as a very minor easter egg. Some rooms have hidden messages with story fragments that don't make much sense on their own but together form a story revolving around him. I haven't read them though, only tried to make sense out of them at the beginning when I still thought that they were part of the mystery. I wanted to return to them after finishing the game, but at that time I already lost interest.

Story and character development in Caucasus never reach the level of Kara. It's quite entertaining and worth playing but nothing more. Still it's clearly better than Pianissmio, around the level of Cartagra, I think.

If you're going to play it, just don't bother with the adventure parts. They are enjoyable during the first playthrough, but after that you should use a walkthrough. I tried to continue on my own, it wasn't worth it.

Most of the old ones have completely uninteresting gameplay, mediocre stories, and shitty CGs. Exceptions are:
-Rance 2 (not really that good, but at least it's appealing to look at due to remake with new CGs)
-Kichikuou Rance
-Rance 6

I've heard mixed opinions regarding 5D, and I think I recall someone claiming 3 had a good story.

I'd suggest just playing the best ones, and saving others if you're hungry for more after that. The continuity doesn't enough to justify starting with 1 rather than 6.

1 is very short. But it's quite surprisingly fun.
2 has better graphics, but story-wise, 3 is better.
4 is like Chrono Trigger in graphics during some story scenes, but man, the lack of music sucks. (1 - 3's music is surprisingly good, so not hearing any for 4 is disappointing, must be the game engine) The story is also good.
5d has good short story and great art. It has shit game engine.
6 would have the 3d dungeon walker, its story is actually much, much better than the others. If you pick an event that makes you lose money, stay with it and don't not choose it. If not, you get a game over. Better to lose money early than to game over late in the game.

They translated 常考 as 'emperor' and 'Faris-tan' as 'Felista', among many other dumbass mistakes. You're better off waiting for a group that doesn't suck ass (if there ever will be one).

The first episode of the Oretsuba anime was also really great and very true to the game. I hope both shows can maintain this level of quality, god knows how long it's been since the last decent game->anime adaptation.

Watched the first episode, it was decent I guess. The hook it has to appeal to someone who hadn't play the game is that there's three protagonist and a heroine for each. I can't wait for the Garuda scenes to see how far they'll do the Paneda-kun scenes, mostly not much since it's only a single season.

Finished Tsubaki's bad end in G-Senjou. It was a bit stretched out like many of Sharin's routes, but Tsubaki's character development was actually interesting. I'm going to finish the routes in the presented order, with bad ends first.

The entirety of the prologue was seen from Saiga's pov, his backstory and personality were well developed.
His relationship with his sister was also well done and touching and he had good chemistry with Canaan.

Yet here come the route and Hitaru the little sister who just before that had a lot of subtext with Saiga gets with Ren.
