how the fuck is it a reset ending? Nothing gets reset, all Takeru did in the parallel universe remains, the agglutinized Takeru (which is not the Extra-verse Takeru, not only at least) was an anomaly to begin with so it's only normal he disappears once he fulfills the condition which stuck him in the loop. It's basically a "protagonist dies" ending, only instead of physically dieing he goes back to a normal universe, while you're supposed to think all he did still has meaning even if he doesn't rememeber it.

It's called genre shift, it's part of what Muv Luv was trying to do. It's first and foremost Takeru's story.
You aren't the only one to like the BETA setting better though (I guess that's the reason age was able to release so many spinoffs), actually I do as well, just that's not point the game is trying to make. Remember Muv Luv started as "average eroge guy gets thrown into a war" in 2003, they probably noticed only after a while how effective the setting they created was.

I guess there's not but... is there any philosophyfag like me who saw ML and MLA as a novelization of Being and Time? Like how they first start in ML EXTRA, a "vulgar" world, and then the protagonist goes on to search for his authenticity. They even subvert the standard notion of time with the loops. Almost every character is well aware of the meaning of being-toward-death and Meiya in the end realizes that it must be something which comes from within and not from above.
Also the protagonist being made to surf the various world explores the notion of being-in-the-world. And of course "care" and "angst" are there too.

One good thing I see from this though, unlike the last big translation release, g-sen, this game require an insane amount of backstory which none of the bad posters will have. So honestly, you will probably see most of the "major" spoilers, spoiler tagged.


My favorite seen was when Tsukuyomi took you behind to the hill and had that "I trust you" talk. Really felt the emotion in it, and they chose the best BGM for it. That scene turned her into a character who I originally found to be generic and cliche, into something really special.

Finally done with it.
Great closure.
I couldnt even get mad or rage at age anymore after chapter9.
After seeing Marimo getting chomped twice and Sumika enjoying her tentacles raped, I knew everyone will be a goner.
Yuuko holding Marimo picture during the last operation was such a strong scene.
And real Sumika transferring Kasumi to Takeru's world was so heart warning. Where is my happy ending for REAL SUMIKA? ;_;

I think reading spoilers can definitely affect your reading experience. I forget what it was but one time I read a spoiler about a character dying. I went through the entire animu trying not to get too attached to the character since I knew she was going to die. in the end it turned out to have been a fake spoiler, but it still semi-ruined my enjoyment of the show.

That didn't prevent me from becoming sick to my stomach and going into a slight set of shock though.

I'm not saying spoiling yourself deprives you of the feelings a certain scene evokes, just that it's not the same as going in without knowing what happens.
All the people I've seen use "Can be seen miles off" for plot twists usually knew what was happening beforehead and were able to pick up on all the hints that you're supposed to realize after shit happens.

It is a good thing I wasnt expecting it. My head went WTF after this scene.

I doubt anybody expected her to die after cheering up Takeru and we were told all the BETA were dead. After all these happened I was half hoping that it was just Takeru dreaming about it in the hospital.

This scene really changed Takeru perspective about how fucked up this world is compare to his high school moemoeharem life.

This game was a terrible disappointment. Are production values what the eroge community value the most or something? That would explain this and Sharin...and I didn't think I'd ever think of Sharin as decent until now.

It kind of sucks no matter who you pick. Meiya spends her life sheltered and holding onto a fantasy. Sumika spends her life trying to nurture a bond with the person she loves. The other will always be devastated.

Though I'll agree that its the only good sex scene in a VN full of terrible ones.

After Marimo died, most of the deaths seemed fairly obvious. Not a bad thing, given how it was done though. Plus almost all of the major characters that die choose their own death. The only characters that truly seemed tragic were Marimo & Sumika. Given how much age loves dramatic deaths, I'm surprised the last few weren't drawn out more. Though Meiya's scene is long enough for all of them.

Given how the Takeru & the BETA were talking about reproduction, then Meiya pops in, I expected the worst. Figured Sumika or Meiya would end up getting tentacle raped. Not that it would make sense since only the creators are supposed to be capable of it. Glad nothing happened, though the entire scene was really long. I know its supposed to dramatize his resolve, but Takeru takes forever to pull the trigger.
