Thats a good question, I know I've heard them mentioned in a few stupid harem series when the pure innocent female lead likes heavy metal, Dark Schnieder's golem from bastard is their mascot, I remember seeing an engine head poster in some seinen ecchi crap, Was it a stand in jojo at some point or another?

I've forgotten the titles of over 75% of manga I've read because last summer I read like 200 series and while not as proliferant I still read manga.

He certainly is, although he hasn't released stuff for a while now. I think he released a 3 track vinyl on Tech Itch Recordings and recently released a Dubstep mini-album, which was good, but nothing compared to the D&B he makes.

Penetration records is an amazing label, must have listened to it all about 3 times by now.

I tend not to listen to internet stations, I just download albums/labels and listen to them. A few of the labels I have already are Black Sun Empire, Hospital, Rewind Records, Vision/Division/Invisble, Neosignal, Subtitles and Virus Recordings. Some I thinking of downloading are Commerical Suicide, Uprising (I have a lot of it already but not all of it), SOM Music (same as Uprising), Ad Noiseam and Audio Blueprint.

If you haven't heard State of Mind, give them a listen. I'd also recommend Concord Dawn, The Upbeats, Plug/Amen Andrews, London Elektricity (he has a new album out soon, should be great) and Phace and Misanthrop (apologies if you have heard all of these.

those are all familiar, i enjoy most of them with the exception of some of LE's stuff. something about him just rubs me wrong, especially how he can never keep his mouth shut on the hospital podcast >__>

i used to make lists of catalog numbers for individual labels and then go hunting via filestube, i have at least 2TB just for music alone in my apartment ^__^ i think it's about time i get back into the downloading routine. the combination of my 100k/s downstream and severe lack of patience (used to 2m/s) is an issue for me though

as far as stations go, most of the stuff they play on bassdrive/jungletrain/di/darkwax isn't extremely new, but a few times a week i'll hear a new track that catches my ear in a live set or something. it's one of the only ways i can really keep up with the new releases, i don't pay attention to websites or emails since i usually just play games/sleep/work constantly

I'm currently listening to Stiff Little Fingers - Guitars and Drums. They're essentially the band that inspired Green Day's sound and all in all are one of the better punk bands I've ever heard (this means, they actually know how to play their instruments instead of just flailing on them wildly).

But I've got a question:
A couple of weeks ago there was an Idolm@ster thread and people were talking about how one of the characters was voiced by a different seiyuu and she didn't have the same breathy quality of her voice as the old one had. They posted some Youtube links for comparison and I really liked the original sieyuu.

The problem is, I have no idea who that character was, so can anyone help?

The other songs with her vocals from that album are great too, but this one instantly became one of my very favorite songs the moment I first heard it.
By the way, might as well ask this here too, does anyone know whether she did anything else other than those 3 songs and the Angel Beats stuff?
I really like her voice.

"CIRCLE OF FAR EAST", a jazz piano album released for Reitaisai 8.

The girl on the vocal tracks isn't suited for jazz vocals, which is too bad. I recognize her voice too, but I can't place it.

Listening to the Flower Land arrangement atm. Probably my favorite on the CD. I've slowly grown to like Flower Land more and more; it has a simple melody with a subtle power that takes care and though to arrange nicely.

I knew someone was gonna post something like that... Oh well, I'm not really educated on the subject matter enough to do anything but speculate, but in this case, don't you think it's a coincidence? It was just like two notes, and there is a common aesthetic to music shared by many.

Not that I don't agree that ZUN hasn't been influenced by classical music; I know my classical music just fine but >>7155713 is outside my field of knowledge. So yeah I don't really know anything but I am making post about it anyway.

Nearly all of the people going "LOL ZUN COPIES ALL HIS MUSIC" are making really tough sells if not ones that basically only they can hear similarities in.

I think it's more of the case that ZUN simply is very well-educated in classical music. He grew up playing I think it was the oboe, and was one of those nerdy kids playing piano a lot from a young age and I believe he mostly played classical.

So in writing his music, which he basically does it impromptu/off the top of his head instead of planning it out (he's actually said this), it wouldn't surprise me if he accidentally lifted a particular note, or short part of melody every once in a while, from classical music he's heard and liked because those parts stuck with him and they just occur to him naturally as part of impromptu composing, because he was trained to lean towards those mannerisms. Oh and also alcohol.. he is drinking most of the time while writing and so he probably is oblivious in one sense and also relying on his subconscious to do most of the work, which is where such occurrences could easily happen. Despite what people think he actually does not put a lot of time into the music and so I doubt he proofreads it if it sounds good enough.

I also have a pretty sizeable collection of D&B. Been meaning to expand into Jungle and Breakbeat Hardcore as well but there's still a lot of good Drum & Bass album being released now (looking forward to Icicle - Under the Ice, for one).

By the way, this might interest you. A guy on /mu/ was looking for a particularly D&B mix by an artist called Freaky Flow, which had aspects of D&B and turntablism in it. He'd looked for years but never found it, but I managed to find an almost dead torrent and upload it for him, see what you think.
