I have that fan book (paid 1/3 of the original price), and it has some of the most famous Higurashi images.

The cover on the other hand...

He didn't draw Higurashi on the right, though.

No I'd say the giant bear hands and bug eyes were a lot worse than the Umineko art. It wasn't even good in its own unique way like Zun's art, it was just horrible to look at. He still can't draw hands, but at least they're not gigantic baseball mitts anymore.

Umineko is much better than Higurashi. Especially with how well R07 uses the sprites and the troll faces.

Higurashi's art is so bad I can't even force myself to read it, or even watch the anime.

Umineko's art, on the other hand, is a masterpiece.

You don't know shit about art. ZUN's drawing are beautiful and reminescent of the ukiyoe style.

The only he is getting is lazier, Higurashi covers were different pictures, Umineko covers are just sprites grouped together.

Still, Umineko is a huge improvement over Higurashi derp art.

I will agree with him being lazy though. He absolutely refuses to draw sprites for characters who won't be on screen long (old Eva) or change existing sprites to reflect small changes such as losing a ring or GETTING YOUR ARM TORN OFF. Reusing Battler's face for young Kinzo was also pretty sad.

Actually EP7 is a huge improvement over EP6 and 5. And for being mostly flashbacks is better written than EP4 with Ange.

You mean the portrait? He doesn't draw the portraits. Actually usually it's the portrait and the grouped sprites, at EP4 and 8 he is so lazy he keeps just the portrait.

I agree with the no sprites for changes in the characters or different ages. For God sake, in Umineko there is a Satoko covering with a towel and without the towel. But in Umineko you never get naked Battler.

But EP7 is better than the rest of Chiru so "worse writting after EP6/5" is not that much of a solid claim..

I like Higurashi art, Umineko art, and ZUN art.
